A Full Moon in Capricorn is Complicated with a Cardinal Grand Cross

Hang on folks, we’ve got an intensely powerful and emotional full moon coming up.  On July 9, 2017 at 12:07 a.m. on the east coast of the United States (July 8th on the west coast and other parts of the world).there will be a full moon in 17 degrees of Capricorn.  What makes this one so special?  For starters, it is conjunct Pluto in 18 degrees of Capricorn and then it is opposed both the sun and Mars in Cancer. Many of us are still feeling the effects of the recent Mars/Pluto opposition on July 2nd, which inspired me to tweet:
When a full moon is conjunct Pluto, feelings are bound to be intensified.  Hidden agendas could be revealed, the emotional tide will be high and defensiveness could prevail.  Mars in Cancer is also inconjunct Saturn in Sagittarius, and this aspect is all about feeling annoyed and uncomfortable.  Adjustments will be necessary on some level and it may be difficult to handle this energy without going into denial mode.

We have seven planets in cardinal signs during this full moon and cardinal signs are renowned for wanting to take action and get things done.  It is contentious and impulsive energy.  The sun and Mars are in Cancer, the moon and Pluto are in Capricorn, Jupiter is in Libra, and Uranus and Eris are in Aries. Eris is a dwarf planet discovered in 2006 that is literally the Greek goddess of Chaos and Discord and sister of the God of War Ares.  Enough said.   If you have any planets or points (like your ascendant, midheaven or nodes) cardinal signs, you will feel this full moon big time.

The Cardinal Grand Cross involves Mars in 18 degrees of Cancer, Pluto in 18 degrees of Capricorn, Jupiter in 14 degrees of Libra and Eris in 23 degrees of Aries.  Mars and Pluto duking it out invariably involves power struggles and issues of force. Jupiter in Libra is forming a wide square to Mars in Cancer, which amplifies the tendency to blow up and exaggerate matters.  Jupiter in Libra can also denote power struggles around equality, injustice and oppression.  The full moon on July 9th highlights this Grand Cardinal Cross.  The theme of emotional security (Cancer) vs. practical security (Capricorn) permeates this full moon.  That Capricorn full moon conjunct Pluto will shine a light on the powers that be, any lack of integrity on their part and secrets will be revealed.  There will be a lot of negative emotions running rampant, but our task is to not let them affect our reality.  Easier said than done.  Neptune and Chiron are retrograde in Pisces and it is far too easy to feel victimized with all of this energy.  Chiron is in 29 degrees of Pisces now, so it is a critical time for the Piscean themes to emerge.  The best way to use this energy is to step back and observe so that we can heal.

We do have an astrological ace in the hole so to speak on this full moon.  It comes in the form of a Grand Fire Trine involving the north node in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries.  Hopefully this will help us look forwards as we endeavor to do old things in new ways.

Mercury already moved into Leo on July 5th, so at least communications became more direct.  However, for me personally, it felt like my own Mercury retrograde as it conjuncted my retrograde Uranus in Cancer.  My iPod failed to connect to the Internet and a quick trip to the Apple store left me with a brand new iPod because somehow Internet access was not functioning and my Apple Care covered the replacement.  When I got home the problem persisted and I wound up spending over 3 ½ hours trying to resolve it.  At one point my ISP got my devices (cell phone, iPod and iPad connecting, but then my computer lost connection. It would be a gross understatement to say that I went into meltdown mode.  It finally got resolved; maybe that last refresh took after a couple of hours, but it was not pleasant and I was in total freak-out mode.  So I learned that I am not happy when transiting Mercury conjuncts my Uranus.  I have these two planets squaring each other in my natal chart, and this must have really set off the frustration of that aspect.

The full moon in 17 degrees of Capricorn will fall at the end of my 3rd house but will be conjunct my 4th house cusp in 19 degrees of Capricorn, opposing my Cancer midheaven and squaring my Libra ascendant.  So I am steeling myself for the effects of this full moon with all of the cardinal placements in my natal chart.

If you are curious as to how these astrological changes are impacting you or seeking more spiritual insight into your life, please consider getting an astrological reading. An astrological reading can provide valuable insight and tools.  If you are not quite ready for a full blown natal interpretation or a solar return forecast, I also offer a basic astrological reading that will offer insight into your astrological DNA and the major themes in your life by delving into any pressing issues, one question astrological readings and composite couple readings that offer insight into the purpose of a relationship. And I offer shorter transit readings for three and six months. If you purchase a three or six month transit reading, I will .even take a peek at the August 2017 eclipses. The August eclipses promise to be heavy hitters because they will occur in the signs of nodes, Leo and Aquarius.    My site also offers the opportunity to provide a donation in the amount of your choice to demonstrate your support for my blog and daily astrological insights on Twitter at:

A contribution in any amount is deeply appreciated as gratitude is a daily part of my spiritual practice.

Recently I undertook an intensive life purpose coaching training program and became certified as a Life Purpose Coach.  It was an intense, eye-opening experience that changed my life as it caused me to reflect on the story of my life.  But I left it with feelings of hope and light for the future that I want to share with others.  To that end, I am now offering Life Purpose Coaching to my menu of services.  You can read more about it at:

As an astrologer, I have decided to include an interpretation of the north node by sign. Especially with 2017 being a Universal Year 1, this is a marvelous time to navigate a new direction in your life that will fulfill you and your soul’s purpose. If you are feeling stuck and need some help in getting from Point A to Point B in your quest for making positive changes in your life, please email me at lindasim54@gmail.com to schedule a complementary telephone consultation to discover if you are a good fit for this program.  I look forward to hearing from you.

If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to healing.  It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot!   Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.

For more information on my Reiki services, please see this page on my site:

For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.  I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages.  I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205.  I am also offering Reiki treatments in the Coolidge Corner section of Brookline on Sunday afternoons.

But the big news is that I have created and launched a new website devoted exclusively to my Reiki practice. Please feel free to check it out at:

I was also featured in the July 3rd edition of Boston Voyager, an online publication that runs a section called Inspiring Stories about local entrepreneurs on its home page.  The Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so my story certainly debuted under fitting aspects.  Please feel free to check it out:

I have also launched an endeavor that will deliver my services to you at an affordable cost in the form of package deals.  I am offering four options: Silver, Gold, Platinum and a Tarot special for my tarot clients. Please check it out at:

I am also running a Summer Tarot Special, which I tweeted about on July 4th:
