Well, the year 2021 is finally ending. The dominating aspect of the year, the Saturn-Uranus square, hit for the third time like a tsunami for many people on December 24. On that day I tweeted:

Personally,
I found it to be very tough (Saturn in Aquarius was conjunct my Mars in
Aquarius in my 4th house and squaring my Saturn in Scorpio in my 1st
house while Uranus in Taurus was also squaring my Mars and opposing my Saturn),
and I have heard from friends and clients that it was not the merriest of holidays. The battle between control and freedom was
raging full force.
But
save the date of January 2, 2022 because we literally have a fresh start. There is a New Moon in 12 degrees of
Capricorn on that day. Be sure to set
those New Year’s resolutions and intentions and be fully prepared to act on
implementing them. On January 1, the Sun in 10 degrees of Capricorn was exactly
trining Uranus in 10 degrees of Taurus with a strong theme of fast change. Capricorn is the sign ruled by Saturn but it
requires that we act responsibly and encourages us to pursue our goals. And
since we are coming off the heels of the Saturn-Uranus square, we need to focus
on our inner authority. This is a very future-oriented New Moon. This is definitely to make those to-do lists
and get cracking on them. Strike while
the iron is hot, so to speak.
The
New Moon in Capricorn is trining Uranus in Taurus, so it will emphasize our
urge for change. But we need to claim
that inner authority to plow forward to achieve our goals. Don’t forget that Capricorn is a very
goal-oriented sign; it loves to check off the box with its achievements. This Supermoon New Moon (it’s very close to
the earth) is conjunct my natal North Node in Capricorn, so I need to walk my
talk. The New Moon in Capricorn is also
forming a tense square aspect to Chiron in 8 degrees of Aries, so there is a
strong likelihood of healing solutions.
Just be mindful of the fact that there is still a likelihood of
confusion and chaos on the New Moon because Mars in 14 degrees of Sagittarius
is squaring Neptune in 20 degrees of Pisces.
The
pandemic is still with us, and astrology backs that up. Venus is retrograde in 22 degrees of
Capricorn on January 2, still conjunct Pluto in 25 degrees of Capricorn and Venus
is triggering that infamous Saturn-Pluto conjunction of January 12, 2020 in 22
degrees of Capricorn. How is that going
to play out? I wouldn’t be surprised if
we started reviewing the actions of the government in the past two years and
looking at the theme of betrayal, both personally and globally. Venus retrograde in Capricorn on that aspect
could bring up a lot of these issues. We
are all too familiar with the restrictions that the pandemic has thrust upon
us. There could be some financial news
coming with this New Moon too. Change is
definitely on the horizon for 2022, so I hope that Uranus finally gets the
upper hand in the battle that Saturn and Uranus have been waging for the past
year.
Mercury
is also moving into the future-oriented sign of Aquarius on January 2. When Mercury is in Aquarius, our thinking and
communication becomes more progressive, inventive and we find it easier to think
outside of the box. But it can also be
quite rational and its shadow side entails a cerebral quality that can make us
insensitive to other people’s feelings. Just
warning you…
We also need to be aware that Mercury will station retrograde in 10 degrees of
Aquarius on January 14 and will slip back into Capricorn on January 25. Mercury stations direct in 24 degrees of
Capricorn on February 3 but it will be back in Aquarius on February 14 until
March 9. So we have a lot of progressive
thinking to look forward to in 2022.

The coronavirus
outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do
because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided
to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to
practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my
Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a
distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune
system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from
the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client
about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the
session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy
and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and
my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now
offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each
other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki
treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client. I use a teddy
bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If

I urge everyone to
engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of
washing your hands frequently, maintaining social distancing, avoid touching
your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary and staying home
if you are sick. And get a vaccine. If you are eligible for a booster
shot, get it. The Omicron strain of the virus is spreading like wildfire these
days. I repeat, you do not want to get this virus! I speak from personal
experience and consider myself very fortunate to have survived Coronavirus.
