A Relatively Quiet Week as March Begins with a Delightful Venus Jupiter Conjunction and Mercury Moves into Pisces

 

We have a relatively quiet week ahead of us to finish up the month of February before the major changes of March blow in like a lion.  This past week we did experience some turbulence on February 21, when Mercury in Aquarius squared Uranus in Taurus.  On that day I tweeted:

I don't know about you, but I was quite rattled on that day.  I experienced a few electronic malfunctions with my printer and some customer service issues.  It didn't help that Mercury in Aquarius was one degree away from my natal Mars and of course Uranus was squaring my Mars.  I love it when astrology has an explanation for problems, but sometimes it can still be frustrating.  Mercury in Aquarius trined Mars in 16 degrees of Gemini on the 22nd, which helped to restore some order to any disturbances that occurred on February 21.

The remainder of February is devoid of any more major upsets.  On March 2, we have two major astrological events.  Venus and Jupiter are conjunct in 12 degrees of  Aries at 12:36 a.m. and this is a real feel-good vibe full of good karma, harmony, warmth and friendliness.  If you wake up with a smile on your face, it is because these two benefic planets are hooking up to have some fun.  The potential for new romance exists, as does the ability to attract financial benefits.  Creativity is also running high on this day.  This aspect brings good luck and it is a perfect day to socialize.  I always say with Jupiter, if you snooze, you lose, so get out there and mingle to make the most of this aspect.  Of course, Jupiter is also associated with excess, so be mindful of the tendency to overeat, have too many drinks or spend too much money.  This conjunction falls at the end of my 6th house, so I am going to have to be careful on this day.

Mercury will enter the mutable water sign of Pisces at 5:52 pm on March 2.  Mercury literally zips through Pisces and zips into Aries on March 19. But before Mercury leaves Aquarius, one of its favorite signs, it does conjunct Saturn in 29 degrees of Aquarius at 9:34 a.m.  This adds a tone of seriousness to our emotional nature and we could feel somewhat challenged and restricted in our relationships.  Just try to remember that this is a temporary influence.  Mercury is considered to be in fall in Pisces, because the sign of Pisces tends to be scattered, unorganized and illogical, which doesn't jive too well with Mercury representing the mind.

But Mercury in Pisces does have its perks.  We are more creative, intuitive and imaginative.  Vivid dreams can also accompany this Mercury placement.  Our thinking is done with our heart because we are going inward and we tend to see the big picture, the details not so much.  We might also find ourselves feeling more introverted and experience some difficulty in verbalizing our impressions.  But Mercury in Pisces gives us a lot more empathy for others and it can be a very sweet, dreamy time. When Mercury enters Pisces it will trine my natal Mercury in Scorpio, so I am looking forward to some inspiration.

Don't get too complacent with the Sun and Mercury in Pisces.  Things will definitely heat up the following week with a Full Moon in Virgo and Saturn entering Pisces on March 7.  I will cover that more in next week's post.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Pisces Season is Here with the Sun and a New Moon But Venus is Moving on into Aries as Mercury Gets Busy

 

The Sun is about to move into one of my favorite signs, Pisces.  It's no secret that I love the sign of Pisces because it is a water sign and trines all of my Scorpio and Cancer planets.  It is a relief for me because the Sun in Aquarius was squaring my Scorpio planets, which wasn't exactly a fun time. The Sun enters Pisces on February 18 and it ushers in a time when the vibe is more dreamy, visionary and spiritual.  Our focus is turned towards having more empathy, compassion and understanding for others. We have a more altruistic perspective and can hopefully act in a kinder fashion. Pisces is a mutable water sign and is inherently quite sensitive.  But because Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, it can also represent a time of endings, release and healing.  I personally find it to be highly creative as well, perhaps because it is ruled by Neptune.  It's important to remember the Neptune influence, because the shadow side of Neptune is escapism, addiction and victimization.  

On February 19, Venus in Pisces forms an exact sextile to Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn.  Venus is exalted in Pisces and when it forms a supportive sextile to Pluto, it can bring opportunities for a deeper, more intense level of loving as well as endings and adjustments.  Whenever a planet is in 29 degrees of a sign, it is considered the anaretic degree and it is extremely potent.  I have my natal Jupiter in 29 degrees and am looking forward to having Venus trine it, but having Pluto oppose it is a mixed bag.  We shall see...

We have another Super New Moon in 1 degree of Pisces on February 20, 2023.  This just means that the Moon will be in its closest approach to the earth.  This will be an extremely emotional New Moon and, spoiler alert, it has the potential to feel overwhelming.  I wouldn't be surprised if this New Moon brings some of us to tears.  But it can also help us to go inward, meditate more deeply and seek inner peace.  It can inspire unconditional love as well.  Mercury in Aquarius is sextiling Chiron in 13 degrees of Aries, which can reinforce the healing theme of a Pisces New Moon.  But just be mindful that the shadow side of a New Moon in Pisces can also bring flooding and deceit in relationships.

Venus moves into Aries on the day of the New Moon.  Venus will be in the cardinal fire sign of Aries until March 16, 2023.  When Venus is in Aries, love will become more spontaneous and direct as we are caught up in the thrill of the chase.  We also tend to be more blunt in our approach as our needs take center stage.  We are very self-focused, which is a marked difference from Venus in Pisces, which is extremely sensitive to the needs of others.  We tend to live in the moment and crave new experiences and adventure. Venus is not the happiest camper in the sign of Aries.

Mercury in Aquarius is squaring Uranus in 15 degrees of Taurus on February 21.  This aspect will bring excitement and changes to our daily lives, but it can also deliver misunderstandings and arguments in our communications.  Anxiety and stress are definitely on the table.  I have a natal Mercury-Uranus square and I can attest to its quality of nervous energy.

But on February 22, 2023, Mercury in Aquarius will be trining Mars in 16 degrees of Gemini.  So there is some relief because it will increase our mental energy and powers of concentration.  We are definitely more persuasive and if any damage occurred on the previous day, this aspect can help to mitigate the damage.

Mercury on the Move as it Conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn and Then Cruises Through Aquarius

 

Mercury is really on the move these days.  On February 10, Mercury will conjunct Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn.  This is the last aspect that Mercury in Capricorn makes before it enters Aquarius on February 11, and it is a really important aspect.  We can expect major confrontations and big secrets around structures and leadership will be revealed.  It is also quite likely that very sharp words will be exchanged, as tact will probably be missing in action on this day.  Depth and intensity in communication will be front and center.  Try to remember that this aspect can provide us with psychological insight as we take inventory.  If we can get past the harsh edges, this can help us to solve some rather sticky problems.

Mercury will move into the fixed air sign of Aquarius on February 11, where it stays until March 2.  I don't know about you, but I found that Mercury's transit of Capricorn since early December 2022, including the Mercury retrograde, was particularly brutal.  And I have been hearing that from friends and clients as well.  Mercury in Capricorn conjuncted my North Node in Capricorn in my 3rd house, my Chiron in Capricorn in my 4th house, squared my Neptune in Libra and Libra Ascendant and opposed my Cancer Midheaven and Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Cancer.  So it has not been pleasant, to say the least.

  

When Mercury is in Aquarius, it will be a welcome relief.  Our thoughts will be more progressive and detached, as we are more able to think outside of the box. We are more spontaneous and objective.  We are more receptive to more information and find it easier to separate intellect and emotion when assessing a situation.  But we need to be mindful of the fact that Mercury in Aquarius is a fixed sign, so there is a tendency to cling to our ideas and beliefs.  Mercury in Capricorn was especially wounding for many people, but Mercury in Aquarius still has the ability to hurt people's feelings because we are operating on such a rational level.  Just keep that in mind and we should be able to enjoy this breezy transit of Mercury in Aquarius.

If your Valentine's Day on February 14 isn't all that romantic or pleasant for you, wait until February 15 when Venus and Neptune are conjunct in 23 degrees of Pisces.  This aspect will generate more love, compassion and empathy.  It is also very favorable for creativity and healing.  Venus conjunct Neptune in Pisces can indicate the potential for new romance and increase the spiritual bonding in an existing relationship.

We have one more major aspect on February 16.  The Sun and Saturn will be conjunct in 27 degrees of Aquarius.  The Sun-Saturn conjunction has themes of hard work, discipline and patience.  We might be called upon to assume additional responsibilities.  This aspect can also trigger feelings of insecurity, loneliness and depression.  I have a very wide Sun-Saturn conjunction in Scorpio, so I am all too familiar with this aspect.  The upcoming conjunction falls in my 5th house and is opposing my natal Pluto in Leo in my 11th house, so I am trying to prepare myself for it.

A Game Changing Full Moon in Leo Featuring Uranus in Taurus Calling the Shots

Can you feel the change coming yet? Yes, we have a Full Moon in 16 degrees of Leo coming up on February 5, but the winds of change are already blowing.  On February 3, the Sun in Aquarius is squaring Uranus in 14 degrees of Taurus.  This is a very rebellious and restless vibe with a strong theme of stability challenging change.  We will undoubtedly be dealing with breakdowns, breakthroughs or comebacks.  Uranus is the wild card planet that likes to shock us and deliver upsets.  It can literally strike like lightning.  Uranus is also the ruling planet of Aquarius, so it packs quite a punch and sets the stage for a powerful and emotional Full Moon in Leo.

If you have any planets in the middle degrees of the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, you have probably been feeling this energy all week.  It tends to generate high anxiety. The bottom line with this Uranian energy is that change is coming and we need to accept it.  If  we don't accept it, we will be steamrolled by it.  There is a saying that is attributed to Gandhi, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" that  resonates big time for me.  I remember when I first began my study of astrology many years ago my teacher told me that I had a chart like Gandhi.  At the time I didn't understand what that truly meant, but now I can see that perhaps it had to do somewhat with the fact that both Gandhi and I had Libra Rising, Cancer Midheavens and Mercury and Venus in Scorpio.  And I have always sought to achieve peaceful resolutions to any problems, probably because of that Libra Rising and Neptune in Libra in the 1st house.  Gandhi had a 12th house Libra Sun.  I am all too aware that major changes are coming down the pike as a chapter of my life is coming to an end.  My Mars in Aquarius and my Scorpio Sun and Saturn are being aspected with this Sun-Uranus square as well as the Full Moon in Leo.  I can tell you from personal experience that fixed signs don't give up or let go easily, especially when they don't know what the future is bringing.  That is what Uranus does best, delivering the unexpected.  All that I can tell you is to be as proactive as possible to survive and thrive in these changing times.

On February 4, 2023, we have another challenging aspect that is a precursor to the Full Moon in Leo.  Venus in 11 degrees of Pisces is exactly squaring Mars in 11 degrees of Gemini.  We are all going to feel the effects of this aspect, but anyone with planets in the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces will take the biggest hit.  Relationships will be tested, tempers could flare, conflict could erupt, and we might feel irritable and annoyed with those we love.  Some relationships could break up but the flip side is that Venus squaring Mars can also lead to a surge in creativity or some great make-up sex if conflict does rear its ugly head.  Once again, I am in the line of fire as my Moon is in 14 degrees of Gemini in my 8th house.

On February 5, the Full Moon in 16 degrees of Leo is exact at 1:29 pm.  Full Moons are all about closure, completion and shining a light on what has been previously hidden. Uranus in 15 degrees of Taurus is involved in a fixed T-square with this Full Moon because it squares both the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo.  Mark my words, there will be a strong sense of urgency and restlessness prevalent as we are forced to contemplate what we have outgrown in our lives.  Uranus in Taurus will probably manifest as climaxes and unexpected results. We should be seeing some fast-moving events with Uranus in the mix.  The thing with Uranus is that you simply cannot predict how it will manifest, but it will throw you for a loop.   It will be a stressful time and I don't see how we can avoid conflict as we deal with stubborn attachments.  Uranus in Taurus is at the end of my 7th house and will be entering my 8th house on February 25, but the Sun is in my 4th house and the Moon is in my 10th house on this Full Moon. The themes associated with a Leo Full Moon include leadership, creativity and integrity.  

This Full Moon in Leo will bring massive changes but it doesn't have to be all negative experiences.  It will probably feel unsettling as a way of life that we have been attached to for so long winds down, but we need to tap into that fire energy and enthusiasm that Leo is renowned for and embrace the future, even if we are not yet sure what it will look like.  On February 8, Venus in 15 degrees of Pisces will form a supportive sextile to Uranus in 15 degrees of Taurus.   Sextiles represent opportunities, so this aspect can be our ticket to working things out after the fallout of the Full Moon and making our way into the light of the future.  Use this energy wisely to create your new reality.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
