Pisces Season is Here with the Sun and a New Moon But Venus is Moving on into Aries as Mercury Gets Busy

 

The Sun is about to move into one of my favorite signs, Pisces.  It's no secret that I love the sign of Pisces because it is a water sign and trines all of my Scorpio and Cancer planets.  It is a relief for me because the Sun in Aquarius was squaring my Scorpio planets, which wasn't exactly a fun time. The Sun enters Pisces on February 18 and it ushers in a time when the vibe is more dreamy, visionary and spiritual.  Our focus is turned towards having more empathy, compassion and understanding for others. We have a more altruistic perspective and can hopefully act in a kinder fashion. Pisces is a mutable water sign and is inherently quite sensitive.  But because Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, it can also represent a time of endings, release and healing.  I personally find it to be highly creative as well, perhaps because it is ruled by Neptune.  It's important to remember the Neptune influence, because the shadow side of Neptune is escapism, addiction and victimization.  

On February 19, Venus in Pisces forms an exact sextile to Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn.  Venus is exalted in Pisces and when it forms a supportive sextile to Pluto, it can bring opportunities for a deeper, more intense level of loving as well as endings and adjustments.  Whenever a planet is in 29 degrees of a sign, it is considered the anaretic degree and it is extremely potent.  I have my natal Jupiter in 29 degrees and am looking forward to having Venus trine it, but having Pluto oppose it is a mixed bag.  We shall see...

We have another Super New Moon in 1 degree of Pisces on February 20, 2023.  This just means that the Moon will be in its closest approach to the earth.  This will be an extremely emotional New Moon and, spoiler alert, it has the potential to feel overwhelming.  I wouldn't be surprised if this New Moon brings some of us to tears.  But it can also help us to go inward, meditate more deeply and seek inner peace.  It can inspire unconditional love as well.  Mercury in Aquarius is sextiling Chiron in 13 degrees of Aries, which can reinforce the healing theme of a Pisces New Moon.  But just be mindful that the shadow side of a New Moon in Pisces can also bring flooding and deceit in relationships.

Venus moves into Aries on the day of the New Moon.  Venus will be in the cardinal fire sign of Aries until March 16, 2023.  When Venus is in Aries, love will become more spontaneous and direct as we are caught up in the thrill of the chase.  We also tend to be more blunt in our approach as our needs take center stage.  We are very self-focused, which is a marked difference from Venus in Pisces, which is extremely sensitive to the needs of others.  We tend to live in the moment and crave new experiences and adventure. Venus is not the happiest camper in the sign of Aries.

Mercury in Aquarius is squaring Uranus in 15 degrees of Taurus on February 21.  This aspect will bring excitement and changes to our daily lives, but it can also deliver misunderstandings and arguments in our communications.  Anxiety and stress are definitely on the table.  I have a natal Mercury-Uranus square and I can attest to its quality of nervous energy.

But on February 22, 2023, Mercury in Aquarius will be trining Mars in 16 degrees of Gemini.  So there is some relief because it will increase our mental energy and powers of concentration.  We are definitely more persuasive and if any damage occurred on the previous day, this aspect can help to mitigate the damage.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
