Venus Goes Direct in Leo, Jupiter Retrogrades in Taurus and the Sun and Mercury Hook up in Virgo

The month of September is going to start off on a quieter note than August, which I am sure all of us will be eternally grateful for.  Yes, we have one more planet stationing retrograde on September 4, Jupiter in Taurus, but we do have the perk of Venus moving direct in Leo on September 3.

Venus has been retrograde since July 22 when it stationed retrograde in 28 degrees of Leo and it finally goes direct on September 3 in 12 degrees of Leo. We could have felt tested big time in our relationships, values and finances as we reevaluated these issues.  Our self-worth could have felt as if it were under a microscope.  But when Venus goes direct, we can feel more confident about taking action to implement changes in these areas of our lives.  And yes, we can move forward with any dramatic changes to our appearance now.  So if you want a daring new haircut or makeover, feel free to go for it.

I have Venus retrograde natally and sometimes Venus retrograde transits are easier for me to deal with than most people.  I had an easy time of the Venus retrograde transit in Leo back in the summer of 2015, but this year, not so much.  I have to admit that circumstances in my life have changed drastically in the last eight years and the pandemic had a lot to do with that.  The Venus retrograde began in my 11th house and entered my 10th house in mid-August.  My issues of reassessment began with friendships, group associations and goals but then moved to my career and reputation.

Uranus in Taurus also joined the retrograde party including Mercury, Venus, Pluto, Neptune, Saturn and Chiron on August 28, 2023 when it stationed retrograde in 23 degrees of Taurus.  On that day I posted:

The major astrological event of today is Uranus stationing retrograde in Taurus until 1/26/24. We could be craving more freedom and independence but it has to be an inside job now, especially with it trining retrograde Mercury in Virgo. #astrology

On September 4, 2023, Jupiter will station retrograde in 15 degrees of Taurus and will remain retrograde until December 30, 2023, when it stations direct in 5 degrees of Taurus.  I can assure you that Jupiter retrograde will not be as disruptive as Mercury or Venus retrograde.  Jupiter retrograde has a theme of lucky opportunities not dropping into our laps but it does provide us with the chance to tap into our spirituality and get answers to the big questions.  It's a time to trust our instincts to create our own luck and foster a sense of optimism.  It can be a very self-reflective time.  This Jupiter retrograde starts in my 8th house, where it has been since August 26, but it re-enters my 7th house on September 14, which ironically is a New Moon in Virgo.  So, for me, it will involve a dip into intimacy and shared finance issues, but its primary focus will be on my partnerships.  And, spoiler alert, don't be surprised if you find yourself dealing with some of the issues you were facing in mid-June when Jupiter goes direct at the end of December 2023...

The Sun and Mercury will be conjunct in 14 degrees of Virgo on September 6, 2023.  It is known as an inferior conjunction because it occurs when Mercury is retrograde and in the middle of Mercury retrograde.  Yes, folks, Mercury will station direct on September 15. There is light at the end of the tunnel. When the Sun and Mercury are conjunct in Virgo, we are in the process of eliminating what isn't necessary in our lives because let's face it, Virgo does love to analyze data, fix things and make decisions.  It can also be a day when we feel more social and meet new people.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. I also wanted to note that in an ironic twist of fate, the latest variant of COVID is EG.5, with a nickname of Eris.  Sound familiar--the Goddess of Discord?  Apparently, COVID cases and hospitalizations are on the rise...

I urge everyone to engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of washing your hands frequently, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary and staying home if you are sick. And get a vaccine.  If you are eligible for a booster shot, get it. I repeat, you do not want to get this virus! I speak from personal experience and consider myself very fortunate to have survived Coronavirus twice. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!
