Mercury Goes Direct and Venus and Jupiter Square Off for the Third Time

 

Save the day of September 15, 2023--Mercury is FINALLY going direct in 8 degrees of Virgo.  It has been retrograde since August 23rd, when it stationed retrograde in 21 degrees of Virgo.  I don't know about you, but this has been one tough Mercury retrograde for me personally.  I have experienced the usual number of electronic malfunctions, delays in transportation and missed messages.  It didn't help that Venus was also retrograde during part of the Mercury retrograde; it only went direct on September 3. I violated a cardinal rule of Mercury retrograde by purchasing some shoes online and while they haven't arrived yet, the credit card bill has.  Go figure...  Anyway, the good news is that Mercury will station direct at 4:21 p.m. on September 15.  We all know that a planet's power is intensified when it is stationing direct or retrograde, so expect a few mishaps to occur for a while but there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Mercury clears its retrograde shadow on September 30 when it hits 21 degrees of Virgo, but I expect that for the most part we will feel relief by early next week.

We have another delightful aspect happening on September 15.  The Sun in Virgo is trining Uranus 22 degrees of Taurus.  This aspect will make us feel more adventurous and open-minded as we are more able to leave our comfort zone.  It can bring drama, intensity and big changes. The changes will be unexpected (the calling card of Uranus) but they should be positive.  It's also possible that we might be meeting new friends now.

On September 17, we have the third square between Venus in Leo and Jupiter in Taurus in 15 degrees of their respective signs. Venus and Jupiter are known as the Great Benefics and the theme associated with them is too much of a good thing.  When they get together, it is great for having fun, but it is not the most productive energy.  Diets fall by the wayside and credit cards tend to get maxed out as we are prone to throwing caution to the wind.  We desire expansion and growth, which can lead to overload.  Venus can be very seductive in terms of luring us away from chores and responsibilities to indulge ourselves.  Venus in Leo is a party girl and Jupiter is in the sign of Taurus, which is ruled by Venus.  This increases the likelihood of overeating, drinking or spending too much money.

The first Venus-Jupiter square occurred on June 11 in 5 degrees of Leo and Taurus.  Both planets were direct back then.  The second square happened more recently on August 22 in 15 degrees of Leo and Taurus.  Back then Venus was retrograde.  On September 17, Venus is now direct, but Jupiter went retrograde on September 4 in 15 degrees of Taurus.  So we could still be dealing with the same temptations we faced in August.  Never forget that squares represent challenges. I would encourage you to look at what houses Venus in Leo and Jupiter in Taurus fall in your chart.  Venus is currently in my 10th house and Jupiter is in my 7th house.  These represent the areas of life where you will feel its impact the most.  And think back to June and August to reflect on what was going on in your life then.  I personally believe that we experience aspects three times due to retrogrades so that we can get it right on the third time.

On September 21, we have another powerful aspect occurring.  The Sun in Virgo is trining Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn.  This one is brimming with intensity and profound experiences.  It can be a time of facing our shadow side, which is challenging (even with a trine) but the trine ensures that positive transformation and personal growth can be the outcome.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. I also wanted to note that in an ironic twist of fate, the latest variant of COVID is EG.5, with a nickname of Eris.  Sound familiar--the Goddess of Discord?  Apparently, COVID cases and hospitalizations are on the rise...

I urge everyone to engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of washing your hands frequently, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary and staying home if you are sick. And get a vaccine.  If you are eligible for a booster shot, get it. I repeat, you do not want to get this virus! I speak from personal experience and consider myself very fortunate to have survived Coronavirus twice. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!
