A Watery Influence as the North Node Moves into Pisces and a Full Moon in Cancer

 

The still waters are literally running quite deep this week.  On January 11, the North Node moves into Pisces while the South Node moves into Virgo until July 26, 2026. This is a big change from the Aries North Node/Libra South influence that we have had since July 17, 2023. The North Node in the cardinal fire sign of Aries encouraged us to take action in demonstrating our independence and sense of self. The Nodes of the Moon change signs approximately every 18 months.  The last time we had the North Node in Pisces and the South Node in Virgo was June 23, 2006 through December 18, 2007.

When the North Node enters Pisces, it will be conjunct Neptune in 27 degrees of Pisces, emphasizing the search for a deeper meaning in life.  There will be an exact conjunction between the North Node and Neptune in 28 degrees of Pisces on February 7, 2025. The North Node in Pisces also requires that we stretch out of our comfort zone to find meaning in something that isn't tangible.  It encourages us to strive towards being more compassionate and intuitive while focusing on healing emotionally, spiritually and physically.  Forgiveness is also a key theme with the North Node in Pisces.  Both Pisces and Virgo are associated with healing.  The South Node in Virgo is asking us to release our perfectionism, overanalytical patterns and obsessive-compulsive behaviors.  Fortunately, the nodes will be in mutable signs, so it should be easier to be flexible. The new nodal placement in Pisces and Virgo underscores the themes of dreams vs. practicality.  

On January 12, 2025, we have retrograde Mars in 27 degrees of Cancer trining Neptune in 27 degrees of Pisces.  This is a very positive aspect for spiritual actions, compassion, acts of kindness and it fosters creativity. So make the most of this day.

There is a Full Moon in 24 degrees of Cancer on January 13.  It is conjunct Mars in 27 degrees of Cancer, so don't be surprised if there is a lot of anger being displayed.  The Moon rules Cancer, so it is bound to be an extremely emotional day. Primal emotions are out in full force.  Power issues will be emphasized. Emotional and practical issues are also big themes on this Full Moon.  We are still under the influence of the Mars-Pluto opposition that occurred on January 3rd.  

What else is happening astrologically on this Full Moon?  Chiron in 19 degrees of Aries is involved in a T-square with the Sun in 24 degrees of Capricorn and the Moon in 24 degrees of Cancer.  This could trigger old emotional wounds and also echoes the Solar Eclipse of April 8, 2024 in 19 degrees of Aries.  On the plus side, the Sun in Capricorn is trining Uranus in 23 degrees of Taurus, which should make it easier to express our individuality, give us the freedom to experiment, achieve breakthroughs and implement positive changes.  The Full Moon in Cancer is also forming a supportive sextile to Uranus in 23 degrees of Taurus, which could provide us with opportunities for change.  I'm all in for that, although I am fully aware that the Sun is conjunct my natal Chiron in 24 degrees of Capricorn in my 4th house, so I figure that there is a strong theme of healing featured for me.  The Full Moon in Cancer is also conjunct my Midheaven, Uranus and Jupiter in Cancer, so it will be an important Full Moon for me.

Venus in Pisces is exactly squaring Jupiter in 13 degrees of Gemini on January 14. When these two benefics are hanging out, it is very easy to overindulge through food, substance abuse, or financially overspending.  This is quite literally the too much of a good thing aspect.  But it is great for socializing...

Mars in Cancer is once again quite active on January 15. when the Sun in Capricorn opposes it exactly when both planets are in 25 degrees of their respective signs.  Conflict is possible as power is emphasized.  We are probably going to feel more assertive, but patience is required as we will have to tamp down our egos. The most constructive use of this aspect is to try to channel the energy into exercise or physical labor.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
