Retrograde
season is kicking up a notch this week.
Okay, Mercury stationed direct on April 15th, but Saturn and
Pluto in Capricorn are joining the retrograde party with Jupiter in Scorpio.
Saturn stationed retrograde in 9 degrees of Aries on April 17, 2018, inspiring
me to tweet:
Chiron also entered the sign of Aries on April 17, 2018 and on that day I tweeted:
Saturn stations retrograde in 9 degrees of Capricorn today for 5 months. A good time to reflect on unfinished business to obtain more wisdom. #astrology— Linda Simons (@danceofphoenix) April 17, 2018
Saturn will be
retrograde until September 6, 2018, when it stations direct in 2 degrees of Capricorn.
Saturn retrograde is a time to sort out our karma and replace negative thoughts
with positive ones. Mercury in Aries was
forming a challenging square with Saturn in Capricorn at the time of the
station, so anyone who has been verbally abusing others will have a tough road
ahead. Saturn retrograde will force us
to revamp our thoughts and communication styles as we rebuild our lives.
Chiron also entered the sign of Aries on April 17, 2018 and on that day I tweeted:
Chiron won’t be in the sign of Chiron for very long this year due to its retrograde which starts on July 4, 2018 (how fitting for a fire sign to station retrograde on Independence Day in the United States) in 2 degrees of Aries and it slips back into Pisces on September 25, 2018. But it will return to stay in Aries for seven years on February 17, 2019.Chiron moves into Aries today and the focus shifts from healing our spiritual self to healing our ego and sense of self. We want to heal more quickly as there is more of a sense of urgency with Chiron in Aries. #astrology— Linda Simons (@danceofphoenix) April 17, 2018
What can we
expect with Chiron in Aries? Pardon the
pun, but it will be a whole different kettle of fish from Chiron in
Pisces. Many of us felt like we were
wallowing in our sense of victimization or martyrdom when Chiron was in Pisces.
The prevailing sentiment of the Chiron in Pisces transit seemed to be that many
people felt unloved or unappreciated and we were engaged in some very deep soul
healing to heal those wounds. If we were smart, we learned to take care of
ourselves and give ourselves the nurturing we felt wasn’t coming from
others. If we didn’t, we get another shot
at healing this wound between September 2018 and February 2019. Chiron in Aries
will force us to release wounds regarding self-worth because Aries is the “Who
am I?” sign. We will be fighting
for our inner power and channeling that inner warrior because Aries is ruled by
Mars. Chiron in Aries will also be a
time of breakthroughs in healing and technologies related to healing.
The last time
Chiron was in Aries was from 1968 through 1977.
Ironically, Chiron was discovered in 1977. That period in time was pretty turbulent in
terms of the Vietnam War and the accompanying protests, increased drug use and
more mothers working outside the home. There
was a strong theme of breaking free from the traditions of the past. The generation born during these years will
be experiencing their Chiron Return between now and 2027. The Chiron Return happens around age 50 or 51
and can literally be described as a crisis of meaning.
Prior to that,
Chiron was in Aries from 1918 to 1927, which coincided with the “Roaring
Twenties”, another era of breaking free. Women got the right to vote
and obtained more freedom from traditional roles. But it was a very conflicted time in terms of
issues regarding immigration, alcohol (Prohibition), religion and race. The
point that I am trying to make is that history has demonstrated that when
Chiron is in Aries, cultural and economic changes are front and center, which is
frequently tough on children yet they learned to be resilient and carry on. They were part of the “Greatest Generation” that
survived the Great Depression and went on to fight World War 2. History has some very interesting
astrological parallels. I am by no means
predicting that we will have another Great Depression or World War, but I think
it is safe to say that there will definitely be economic and cultural changes
coming down the pike as we seek to break free yet again.
The sun entered
the sign of Taurus on April 19, 2018, just one day after a conjunction between
the sun and Uranus in Aries which generated a great deal of nervous tension and
unpredictability. The sun entering
Taurus was a welcome breath of fresh air, as it ushers in a month of energy
that is more practical and grounded with a strong focus on security needs. We will be into our creature comforts for
sure when the sun is in Taurus, one of the signs ruled by the planet Venus. Just be mindful of the tendencies to be
stubborn (remember that old phrase “stubborn as a bull”, the animal
symbolizing Taurus) and possessive.
Taurus is one of the fixed signs and doesn’t welcome change easily, but
it is adept at planting seeds for the future and staying the course.
Pluto will be
stationing retrograde in 21 degrees of Capricorn on April 22, 2018 and will station
direct in 18 degrees of Capricorn on September 30, 2018. Pluto retrograde can be a time of rebirth and
regeneration if you let go of what you don’t need. It’s actually a good time to
deal with issues of power and control by reflecting on what or whom is controlling
you and releasing them. The best way to navigate this transit is to trust in
the process of change, because if you resist it, your life will become
unbearably difficult. And don’t think
that just Capricorns will be affected by this Pluto retrograde transit. If you have any planets between 18-21 degrees
of the remaining cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer or Libra you will be
experiencing a Pluto transit. I have the
distinct honor of having Pluto transiting my 4th house and opposing
my midheaven in 20 degrees of Cancer during Pluto retrograde, so I am right in
the transformational line of fire.
If you are
curious as to how all of the planetary changes, including eclipses, Saturn and
Pluto in Capricorn retrograde, Jupiter in Scorpio and Chiron in Aries will be
affecting you in 2018, please consider getting an astrological reading. A transit reading might be just what you need
right now to make the most of Jupiter in Scorpio. Jupiter transits are all about taking
advantage of opportunities and if you snooze you lose with Jupiter. You have to be aware and strike while the
iron is hot. The Services Offered page of my site describes the menu of
services that I offer. There is something for everyone.
My site also
offers the opportunity to provide a donation in the amount of your choice to

A
contribution in any amount is deeply appreciated as gratitude is a daily part
of my spiritual practice.
Recently I
undertook an intensive life purpose coaching training program and became
certified as a Life Purpose Coach. It
was an intense, eye-opening experience that changed my life as it caused me to
reflect on the story of my life. But I
left it with feelings of hope and light for the future that I want to share
with others. To that end, I am now
offering Life Purpose Coaching to my menu of services. You can read more about it at:
As an
astrologer, I have decided to include an interpretation of the north node by sign.
If you are feeling stuck and need some help in getting from Point A to Point B
in your quest for making positive changes in your life, please email me at lindasim54@gmail.com to schedule a complementary telephone
consultation to discover if you are a good fit for this program. I look forward to hearing from you.
If you are in
the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for
Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to
healing. It’s a perfect way to start
your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot! Reiki is the most profound treatment for
stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.
For
more information on my Reiki services, please see this page on my site:
For
my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have
difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions
for them. I have a conversation with
them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the
session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy
and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and
my perception of their blockages. I have
also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I
don’t always have a photo of my client.
I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where
it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email
at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205. I am also offering Reiki treatments in the Coolidge
Corner section of Brookline on Sunday afternoons.
But
the big news is that I have created and launched a new website devoted exclusively
to my Reiki practice. Please feel free to check it out at:
I
was also featured in the July 3, 2017 edition of Boston Voyager, an online
publication that runs a section called Inspiring Stories about local
entrepreneurs on its home page. The
Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so
my story certainly debuted under fitting aspects. Please feel free to check it out:
I
have also revised my package deals and I am now offering two options for
package deals: Silver and a Tarot special for my tarot clients. Please check it
out at:
