Mercury in Taurus Enters its Retrograde Shadow, Venus Moves into Gemini and the Sun and Jupiter Hook up in Aries

 

Are you feeling the tension and anxiety yet?  I know we are just coming off a powerful Full Moon in Libra that occurred on April 6, but on April 7, Mercury enters its retrograde shadow in 5 degrees of Taurus.  Mercury isn't officially retrograde until April 21, when it hits 21 degrees of Taurus, but many people are already starting to feel the effects of Mercury retrograde, with communication, transportation and electronic snafus.  And we are on the verge of the next set of eclipses, which starts on April 20.  That is the second New Moon in Aries this year, which at 29 degrees is highly significant.  Think back to March 21 when we had the first New Moon in 0 degrees of Aries.  Something could be coming to a head on this first eclipse of the season.

On April 8, Mercury in Taurus will be forming a supportive sextile to Mars in 6 degrees of Cancer.  This is actually a very positive vibe with very harmonious energy.  It is a perfect blend of Mercury's reason, wit, intelligence and communication with Mars' passion, drive, strength and courage.  Sextiles are renowned for creating opportunities, so please don't waste this day.  It can be a day of great accomplishments if we apply ourselves.

Another personal planet is on the move this week.  On April 11, Venus moves from its comfortable perch in Taurus into Gemini, where it stays until May 7, 2023.  Venus in Gemini is a mutable air sign and is more drawn to intellect.  It can be very flirtatious and fickle.  It is a sign of duality, so we might have trouble making up our minds between potential partners. When Venus is in Gemini we crave variety and spontaneity.  I am looking forward to when Venus conjuncts my Moon in Gemini on April 24.

When Venus moves into Gemini on April 11, it also trines Pluto in 0 degrees of Aquarius.  This is really going to highlight romance and increase our desire for passion and intimacy.  It also brings the potential for a new partner to appear, but it can also have an obsessive and karmic pull to relationships.  Pluto is all about power, control and obsession.  Don't be fooled by the fact that both Venus and Pluto are in air signs; these two, even in a favorable trine aspect, can generate lots of drama.

There is yet a third reason to mark April 11 on your calendar as a special day.  It could be described as one of the luckiest days of the year because the Sun and Jupiter are conjunct in 21 degrees of Aries.  It will generate feelings of happiness, optimism and create the ability to attract good luck.  Our moods will be expansive (because that is what Jupiter loves to do) and we should be feeling particularly generous towards those we care about.  It is also a pretty sweet aspect for long-distance travel too.

I hope you all have the opportunity to enjoy the Mercury/Mars sextile on April 8 and I wish everyone an extremely lucky day on April 11 when the Sun and Jupiter are conjunct in Aries.  Venus entering Gemini and trining Pluto in Aquarius can add to the passion of the day.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
