A Super Full Moon in Aries and Mercury Enters Libra

 

Hang on folks, because we have a Super Full Moon in 6 degrees of Aries on September 29.  This is the 4th Super Moon in row because the Moon is so close to the earth.  While the Full Moon itself isn't making any major aspects to other planets, there is plenty of back story involved with the other planets.

For starters, a Full Moon in Aries is all about determination and wanting to create something new.  It is cardinal fire, don't forget that it craves action and is very dynamic.  It has a strong theme about me (Aries) vs. we (Libra). The Sun in Libra is objective while the Moon in Aries is subjective. The Moon in Aries is speedy, impatient and restless. This Full Moon will test us to find some balance between the self and others.  Full Moons typically represent endings, closure and completion.  This one has that theme emphasized because Mars in 21 degrees of Libra is conjunct the South Node of the Moon in 25 degrees of Libra and the South Node represents our past.  Mars in Libra generally wants to reach compromise, but it could drain the lunar energy of that Aries Moon. Mars conjunct the South Node can bring up power issues too because the Nodes of the Moon in Aries and Libra are squaring Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn. Mars in Libra was opposing Chiron in 18 degrees of Aries on September 24, which opened up old emotional wounds for healing but could have created some angry scenes.  Pluto in Capricorn squaring the Nodes indicates that massive changes are underway, and we have to decide if we want to be a victim or become empowered. I don't usually work with Eris, the goddess of discord, but the North Node in 25 degrees of Aries is conjunct Eris in 24 degrees of Aries, which can only bring anger and contentious vibes to the mix.  It bears repeating that the North Node in Aries wants action.  The Sun in 6 degrees of Libra is conjunct Pallas in 7 degrees of Libra, and this can be quite positive in terms of helping us with strategy and diplomacy.  Pallas is the asteroid associated with the wisdom of the female spirit, and its location in a chart depicts where you can figure things out with logic, reasoning and creative understanding. It also has a warrior like spirit.  

The main aspect in the back story of this Full Moon in Aries is the exact square between Venus in 22 degrees of Leo and Uranus in 22 degrees of Taurus.  This is the third time that this square has occurred: the first time was on July 2 in 21 degrees when both Venus and Uranus were direct and the second hit occurred on August 9 when Venus was retrograde and Uranus was direct in 22 degrees of their respective signs.  Now Venus is direct and Uranus is retrograde until January 26, 2024.  The bottom line with this aspect is that we can still be processing changes that have happened over the summer.  It is highly probable that many of us have experienced upheavals in relationships and finances.  I always say that it frequently takes us three times to get it right with an aspect.  Don't be surprised if you wind up needing more space and change in your relationships on this Full Moon. This is a very relationship-oriented Full Moon. Venus in Leo is also conjunct Juno, the asteroid associated with partnership, in 22 degrees of Leo.  I wouldn't be surprised if we heard about more break-ups with all of this emphasis on relationships.  

Mercury in 20 degrees of Virgo is also very active on this Full Moon.  It is opposing Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces and this can manifest as disappointment or disillusionment.  Mercury is also trining Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn, which could serve to activate something that occurred on the New Moon in 21 degrees of Virgo on September 14.  But Mercury in Virgo is also trining Uranus in 22 degrees of Taurus and that can bring new ideas to the table.  

The effects of this Full Moon will also be in play on October 1 when Mars in 21 degrees of Libra is inconjunct Uranus in 22 degrees of Taurus. This is a very rebellious vibe with an attitude of don't tell me what to do or else.  There is a positive spin to this energy, though, because Mercury in Virgo, Uranus in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn are involved in a loose Grand Earth Trine, which can bring us new ideas pertaining to finance and health.  The themes of health and wealth are emphasized.  

If you have any planets in 27-29 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, I guarantee that you will feel the intensity of this Full Moon in Aries because Pluto in Capricorn is squaring the Nodes of the Moon.

I am happy to report that as of September 30, Mercury in Virgo will clear its retrograde shadow.  On October 4, Mercury zips into the cardinal air sign of Libra until October 22.  When Mercury is in Libra, we are more diplomatic, fair, objective and rational.  Our communication is focused on attaining peace and harmony in relationships. It can be a welcome breath of fresh air after the recent Mercury retrograde and Full Moon in Aries. It is a perfect time to heal any rifts that have occurred. Just don't wind up being too nice to others or being indecisive because that is the shadow side of Mercury in Libra. Make the most of this peacekeeping transit.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. The Sun Enters Libra for a New Season and Mercury Trines Jupiter

 

The Sun is going to be entering the cardinal air sign of Libra on September 23.  It is the Fall Equinox, marking the start of the Fall season.  The Sun is not the most comfortable in Libra, and is considered to be in fall (no pun intended) because it is exalted in Aries, its opposite sign. The Sun represents our ego and life force, and when the Sun is in Libra, our focus is on finding balance and harmony in relationships.  We are not driven to achieve our own goals so much with the Sun in Libra. On the plus side, we are more tactful, tolerant and sociable.  It is also a good time to appreciate the arts and beauty.  Some of us might be going to museums, the theater and engaging in some shopping too.  We want to work out issues in relationships, but we need to be mindful of the tendency to people please and bend over backwards while ignoring our own needs.  There is a shadow side to the Sun in Libra: we can be more indecisive because we are able to see both sides of situations and we might be inclined towards passive-aggressive behavior, which is another Libra tendency.  

On September 24, the Sun in Libra will be forming an irritating inconjunct with Saturn in 1 degree of Pisces.  This aspect always requires us to make some kind of adjustment because the planets are in signs that are just not on the same page.  The Sun inconjunct Saturn is bound to see us torn between what we want to do and our responsibilities. If we aren't careful, we could be acting out in destructive behaviors and issues with addiction could also surface.  The main issues are a desire for freedom and the restrictions in our lives. Tension will be prevalent and we need to find some compromise. I am sure that I will be feeling this aspect acutely because the Sun will be in my 12th house and Saturn is in my 5th house, which is where we want to have fun and experience joy.

 

On the same day, Mars in Libra is opposing Chiron in 18 degrees of Aries.  This could add to the discomfort level of September 24 because there will be conflict between our assertive needs and healing old emotional wounds. I anticipate that relationships could be a little rocky but the potential exists to clear the air. Sometimes a little discomfort is necessary in order for healing to occur.

On September 25, we have a truly delightful aspect with Mercury in Virgo trining Jupiter in 14 degrees of Taurus.  We can be hearing good news and experiencing more optimism, harmony and serenity.  This is a very future oriented aspect, so feel free to make plans as we will have more insight available to us.  It is also very favorable for travel and legal matters, so make the most of this day.  It is the perfect way to start the week.  Mercury will be in my 11th house and Jupiter in my 7th house, so I am psyched about it.

Mercury Goes Direct and Venus and Jupiter Square Off for the Third Time

 

Save the day of September 15, 2023--Mercury is FINALLY going direct in 8 degrees of Virgo.  It has been retrograde since August 23rd, when it stationed retrograde in 21 degrees of Virgo.  I don't know about you, but this has been one tough Mercury retrograde for me personally.  I have experienced the usual number of electronic malfunctions, delays in transportation and missed messages.  It didn't help that Venus was also retrograde during part of the Mercury retrograde; it only went direct on September 3. I violated a cardinal rule of Mercury retrograde by purchasing some shoes online and while they haven't arrived yet, the credit card bill has.  Go figure...  Anyway, the good news is that Mercury will station direct at 4:21 p.m. on September 15.  We all know that a planet's power is intensified when it is stationing direct or retrograde, so expect a few mishaps to occur for a while but there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Mercury clears its retrograde shadow on September 30 when it hits 21 degrees of Virgo, but I expect that for the most part we will feel relief by early next week.

We have another delightful aspect happening on September 15.  The Sun in Virgo is trining Uranus 22 degrees of Taurus.  This aspect will make us feel more adventurous and open-minded as we are more able to leave our comfort zone.  It can bring drama, intensity and big changes. The changes will be unexpected (the calling card of Uranus) but they should be positive.  It's also possible that we might be meeting new friends now.

On September 17, we have the third square between Venus in Leo and Jupiter in Taurus in 15 degrees of their respective signs. Venus and Jupiter are known as the Great Benefics and the theme associated with them is too much of a good thing.  When they get together, it is great for having fun, but it is not the most productive energy.  Diets fall by the wayside and credit cards tend to get maxed out as we are prone to throwing caution to the wind.  We desire expansion and growth, which can lead to overload.  Venus can be very seductive in terms of luring us away from chores and responsibilities to indulge ourselves.  Venus in Leo is a party girl and Jupiter is in the sign of Taurus, which is ruled by Venus.  This increases the likelihood of overeating, drinking or spending too much money.

The first Venus-Jupiter square occurred on June 11 in 5 degrees of Leo and Taurus.  Both planets were direct back then.  The second square happened more recently on August 22 in 15 degrees of Leo and Taurus.  Back then Venus was retrograde.  On September 17, Venus is now direct, but Jupiter went retrograde on September 4 in 15 degrees of Taurus.  So we could still be dealing with the same temptations we faced in August.  Never forget that squares represent challenges. I would encourage you to look at what houses Venus in Leo and Jupiter in Taurus fall in your chart.  Venus is currently in my 10th house and Jupiter is in my 7th house.  These represent the areas of life where you will feel its impact the most.  And think back to June and August to reflect on what was going on in your life then.  I personally believe that we experience aspects three times due to retrogrades so that we can get it right on the third time.

On September 21, we have another powerful aspect occurring.  The Sun in Virgo is trining Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn.  This one is brimming with intensity and profound experiences.  It can be a time of facing our shadow side, which is challenging (even with a trine) but the trine ensures that positive transformation and personal growth can be the outcome.

The Sun and Jupiter Do a Happy Dance and a New Moon in Virgo

 

I realize that we are still thick in the heart of retrograde season with Mercury, Saturn, Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Chiron and recently Jupiter stationing retrograde in 15 degrees of Taurus  on September 4, 2023.  On that day I posted:

Jupiter stations retrograde in Taurus today until 12/30/23. The station amplifies the power of Jupiter but it signifies that luck and faith will be more internalized for the rest of the year. Create your own opportunities. #astrology

But Venus did finally move direct on September 3, 2023, when I posted:

Venus stations direct in Leo tonight which can be a boon for self-esteem, love and finances. It has been retrograde since July 22 and has made many feel like we were living Groundhog Day in relationships. We can anticipate some movement at last. #astrology

So, after the tumultuous times of August, and in spite of retrograde season, I am looking for something to be grateful for these days.  On September 8, we have one of those days.  The Sun in Virgo is exactly trining Jupiter in 15 degrees of Taurus.  This is a delightful aspect that brings optimism, good cheer and a real feel-good, harmonious vibe.  It can expand and improve our spiritual perspective as well as boosting our finances.  It really can be a blessing for career matters. We literally could be feeling lucky on this day.  I realize that Jupiter is retrograde, but I would encourage all of you to take a deep dive into reexamining the wisdom of our decisions.  Jupiter loves to expand whatever it touches, but it is also about truth and knowledge.  The Sun is currently at the end of my 11th house and Jupiter is in my 8th house for another week, which will definitely give me food for thought in terms of my goals and areas that I would like to transform.

On September 14, we have a New Moon in 21 degrees of Virgo. The major theme of a New Moon is to set new intentions.  A New Moon in the sign of Virgo pertains to decluttering, streamlining, clarifying and simplifying.  It's also an ideal time to focus on improving our health and job performance or ways of serving others.

Mercury is prominently featured in this New Moon.  It is also in Virgo and is stationary because it will go direct in 8 degrees of Virgo on September 15.  Whenever a planet is stationing, its power is magnified and intensified.  But Mercury in Virgo is also in a wide opposition to Saturn in 2 degrees of Pisces, which could pose some restrictions in the flow of information.  If you have any health issues that are troubling you, I urge you to get them checked out now because a New Moon in Virgo can get you on the right path to better health.

Neptune in 26 degrees of Pisces is also opposing the Sun and Moon in Virgo on the New Moon, which will add some fog and illusion to the mix.  It also emphasizes health and could pertain to mental health issues.  But it also has the potential to enhance our intuition, so pay attention to your gut instincts and dreams on this New Moon.

Uranus in 22 degrees of Taurus is also trining the Sun and Moon in 21 degrees of Virgo, which can bring a new perspective to health matters.  Uranus lives for the moment, as it loves to expose truth, be totally individual and sometimes iconoclastic as it seeks to awaken us.  We actually have a very wide Grand Earth Trine in place on September 14 involving the Sun and Moon in 21 degrees of Virgo, Uranus in 22 degrees of Taurus and Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn.  This holds the potential and promise of building new systems that are very future-oriented, so be sure to meditate and do some kind of ritual on the New Moon to set those intentions for a brighter future.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. I also wanted to note that in an ironic twist of fate, the latest variant of COVID is EG.5, with a nickname of Eris.  Sound familiar--the Goddess of Discord?  Apparently, COVID cases and hospitalizations are on the rise...

I urge everyone to engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of washing your hands frequently, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary and staying home if you are sick. And get a vaccine.  If you are eligible for a booster shot, get it. I repeat, you do not want to get this virus! I speak from personal experience and consider myself very fortunate to have survived Coronavirus twice. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

Venus Goes Direct in Leo, Jupiter Retrogrades in Taurus and the Sun and Mercury Hook up in Virgo

The month of September is going to start off on a quieter note than August, which I am sure all of us will be eternally grateful for.  Yes, we have one more planet stationing retrograde on September 4, Jupiter in Taurus, but we do have the perk of Venus moving direct in Leo on September 3.

Venus has been retrograde since July 22 when it stationed retrograde in 28 degrees of Leo and it finally goes direct on September 3 in 12 degrees of Leo. We could have felt tested big time in our relationships, values and finances as we reevaluated these issues.  Our self-worth could have felt as if it were under a microscope.  But when Venus goes direct, we can feel more confident about taking action to implement changes in these areas of our lives.  And yes, we can move forward with any dramatic changes to our appearance now.  So if you want a daring new haircut or makeover, feel free to go for it.

I have Venus retrograde natally and sometimes Venus retrograde transits are easier for me to deal with than most people.  I had an easy time of the Venus retrograde transit in Leo back in the summer of 2015, but this year, not so much.  I have to admit that circumstances in my life have changed drastically in the last eight years and the pandemic had a lot to do with that.  The Venus retrograde began in my 11th house and entered my 10th house in mid-August.  My issues of reassessment began with friendships, group associations and goals but then moved to my career and reputation.

Uranus in Taurus also joined the retrograde party including Mercury, Venus, Pluto, Neptune, Saturn and Chiron on August 28, 2023 when it stationed retrograde in 23 degrees of Taurus.  On that day I posted:

The major astrological event of today is Uranus stationing retrograde in Taurus until 1/26/24. We could be craving more freedom and independence but it has to be an inside job now, especially with it trining retrograde Mercury in Virgo. #astrology

On September 4, 2023, Jupiter will station retrograde in 15 degrees of Taurus and will remain retrograde until December 30, 2023, when it stations direct in 5 degrees of Taurus.  I can assure you that Jupiter retrograde will not be as disruptive as Mercury or Venus retrograde.  Jupiter retrograde has a theme of lucky opportunities not dropping into our laps but it does provide us with the chance to tap into our spirituality and get answers to the big questions.  It's a time to trust our instincts to create our own luck and foster a sense of optimism.  It can be a very self-reflective time.  This Jupiter retrograde starts in my 8th house, where it has been since August 26, but it re-enters my 7th house on September 14, which ironically is a New Moon in Virgo.  So, for me, it will involve a dip into intimacy and shared finance issues, but its primary focus will be on my partnerships.  And, spoiler alert, don't be surprised if you find yourself dealing with some of the issues you were facing in mid-June when Jupiter goes direct at the end of December 2023...

The Sun and Mercury will be conjunct in 14 degrees of Virgo on September 6, 2023.  It is known as an inferior conjunction because it occurs when Mercury is retrograde and in the middle of Mercury retrograde.  Yes, folks, Mercury will station direct on September 15. There is light at the end of the tunnel. When the Sun and Mercury are conjunct in Virgo, we are in the process of eliminating what isn't necessary in our lives because let's face it, Virgo does love to analyze data, fix things and make decisions.  It can also be a day when we feel more social and meet new people.
