Pisces Season is Here as Mercury and the Sun Dive into the Mutable Water Sign

Mercury enters Pisces on February 14, just in time for some sweet talking on Valentine's Day.  When Mercury is in Pisces, we are thinking more with our hearts than with our heads.  It's a big change from Mercury in Aquarius, which is more cool and rational.  Mercury in Pisces is also more prepared to mentally do a deep dive within, as it lets us be more sensitive and intuitive. Our imagination is heightened when Mercury is in Pisces, which is a boon for writers, artists and musicians.  It favors creativity.  It's also the best time to trust our gut feelings in the decision-making process.  Mercury in Pisces is very introspective, but given the mutable quality of Pisces and the fact that it is a water sign, it can also bring some confusion and a lack of clarity.  Mercury will remain in Pisces until March 3, but due to the upcoming Mercury retrograde on March 15, it will dip back into Pisces on March 29 and stay in Pisces until April 16.  So we are getting lots more of this Pisces energy.

We also still have Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, although they are preparing to briefly enter Aries this year temporarily.  Neptune enters Aries on March 30, but it will station retrograde in 2 degrees of Aries on July 4 and re-enter Pisces on October 22 to complete its unfinished business until it moves back into Aries on January 27, 2026.  Saturn will move into Aries on May 24, station retrograde in 1 degrees of Aries on July 13 and move back into Pisces until February 14, 2026.  And we have the North Node in Pisces until July 26, 2026.  To further add to the Piscean vibe, we have a Venus retrograde coming up on March 1 which starts out in 10 degrees of Aries, but moves back into Pisces from March 27 through April 30.  So this year has a very heavy Pisces/Aries vibration going down this year.  Pisces is the 12th and last sign of the zodiac, while Aries is the 1st sign of the zodiac.  We are quite literally straddling between two worlds.  We are dealing with the sentimental attachment to the old world (Pisces) while chomping at the bit to start the new age (Aries). When the Sun moves into Aries on March 20, it is considered to be the astrological New Year.  A major theme of this year is the end of an era, but we have lots of unfinished business to deal with first.

The Sun enters Pisces on March 18.  As a Scorpio, I personally love this time of year.  Altruistic feelings and dreams feature prominently while spirituality is emphasized. Empathy and compassion are running high and creativity soars.  A major theme of Pisces is letting go and surrendering.  We just need to be mindful of the fact that the shadow side of Pisces is the tendency towards victimhood, self-pity, addiction and escapism.  We can find constructive channels for escapism through music, films and art.  

This is probably going to be the quietest week in February because next week we have Mars stationing direct in Cancer and a New Moon in Pisces so try to enjoy it as much as possible.  The month of March ushers in eclipse season, which will be chock full of more changes...

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
