An Empowering Full Moon in Virgo and the Sun Enters Aries

 

Today, March 18 is the day of the Full Moon in 27 degrees of Virgo.  While this is not technically a Super Moon, it will prove to be a pretty powerful Full Moon given the current state of the world.  The Sun in Pisces and Moon in Virgo are signs associated with health and they can work together to heal the body and the soul.  But they can also generate confusion and clarity as we are forced to see things that we don't want to see.  Virgo loves to analyze and fix things.  It is definitely a time to take care of our health but also to release our need for perfectionism.

Full Moons are highly emotional times and this one is no exception.  I know that most people have been feeling its effects since earlier in the week.  On March 17 I tweeted:

What is going on with the astrological landscape of this Full Moon?  I think that we need to acknowledge the Grand Earth Trine involving the Moon in 27 degrees of Virgo, Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn and the North Node in 24 degrees of Taurus.  The North Node represents our collective soul path in life and what we should be striving to achieve.  Earth energy likes to get things done and with a Full Moon in Virgo we have a strong theme of spiritual and practical service to others.  Frankly, I can't think of a better time to act on this compassionate and spiritual vibe. This Full Moon is occurring in my 12th house trining my Chiron in Capricorn so I am all for doing whatever can be done to heal myself and others.

There is a theme of empowerment with this Full Moon because the Sun in Pisces is forming a supportive sextile to Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon is trining it.  With the Sun sextiling Pluto, we might find ourselves resurrecting an old interest or talent from the past and reclaiming it.  We can run with this energy to make it a time of empowerment for the people by putting our best intentions forward to serve the collective good.  The Sun and Neptune in 23 degrees of Pisces are also conjunct on the Full Moon, adding to the compassionate nature of this Full Moon. Mercury in 13 degrees of Pisces is conjunct Jupiter 18 degrees of Pisces on the Full Moon, which will provide a boost of creative energy that also benefits from the sextile to Uranus in 12 degrees of Taurus.

Uranus in Taurus isn't done stirring the pot with the Full Moon.  On March 19 Venus in 12 degrees of Aquarius is squaring Uranus in 12 degrees of Taurus.  This aspect can bring sudden romantic upsets or emotional breakups.  It's pretty volatile energy.  But it can also increase our interest in music and the arts, so it does have some perks.  On March 22 Mars in 12 degrees of Aquarius is taking its turn squaring Uranus in 12 degrees of Taurus.  These two planets are definitely not playing nicely in the sandbox and we can expect more emotional upsets, possibly more earthquakes and there is a clear and present danger of cyberattacks.

But on March 20 the Sun moves into Aries for the first day of Spring and the Astrological New Year.  It is officially International Astrology Day.  The Sun is leaving the mutable and highly emotional water sign of Pisces for the cardinal fire sign of Aries.  Our focus will shift to feeling more impulsive and craving action. We are enthusiastic, spontaneous, direct and motivated by the desire to conquer. It is a time to take action and let go of the past.  We have more courage to pursue our dreams, the ones that were cultivated when the Sun was in Pisces.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Sun Conjunct Neptune in Pisces Can Either Deliver Dreams and Inspiration or Heightened Paranoia and Sadness

If you are feeling somewhat adrift these days, it's perfectly understandable given the current state of the world and the fact that we are still sailing through Pisces season.  Not only are the Sun, Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces, but on March 9 Mercury entered Pisces.  On that day I tweeted:

The bottom line is that this a great deal of water energy and we all know that the water signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces have deep emotions. So we have a stellium in Pisces now.  The Sun and Jupiter were conjunct in 14 degrees of Pisces on March 5 and on March 11, the Sun and Neptune will be conjunct in 22 degrees of Pisces.  Sun-Neptune conjunctions occur once a year and in Pisces they can be a very big deal.

The highest manifestation of a Sun-Neptune conjunction in Pisces can be quite magical and idealistic.  Some people might feel like their dreams are coming true because Neptune is the planet associated with spirituality.  But let us not forget that the planet Neptune also entails delusion, paranoia and sadness.  Addiction, suffering and escapism are common themes related to Neptune's domain.  Deception can run rampant.  This is a deeply emotional time so don't be surprised if you feel the need to cry on this day; feel free to let it out.  Our sensitivity, intuition and empathy are increased when the Sun and Neptune hook up.  This can be good or bad.  If you are surrounded by negative people or situations, this can be very draining.

What is the best way to cope with this deep energy?  One thing you can do if you have some negative influences in your life is to try to set some boundaries.  Neptune is not exactly known for its use of boundaries, but if we are being drained and don't attempt to set some clear boundaries, we will literally feel like we are drowning in a sea of emotions. We can also utilize the escapist theme of this aspect by giving ourself permission to enjoy a movie or book that provides a temporary respite from our reality.  Or we could tap into the compassionate side of this energy and donate to relief funds that support the  Ukrainians.  I have donated to United Help Ukraine, which you can find at:

There is more emotional depth on tap for March 13 with the Moon in Cancer opposing Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn.  This can bring mood swings, turmoil, relationship drama, manipulation and power struggles.  I am not flat out predicting a bad day, but I think that we all need to be aware of the potential pitfalls that could occur.  I would also encourage you to take a look at where this conjunction is falling in your natal chart.  For me, it is in my 6th house of work, health, and daily routines.  It is also conjunct my Part of Fortune in 21 degrees of Pisces.

There is one more upcoming aspect that I would like to address.  On March 17, Mercury in Pisces is forming a supportive sextile to Uranus in 12 degrees of Taurus.  This can bring very future-oriented thinking and open-mindedness as our intuitive powers are getting quite the boost. Exciting news and stimulating conversations will abound.  But we could also experience flashes of insight and have dreams with important messages.  So be on alert on that day!

A Blend of Lucky Piscean Energy While Mars and Venus Enter Aquarius

 

Well, we are just coming off the New Moon in Pisces from March 2, 2022.  It was a complicated day and back then I tweeted:

Today’s #NewMoon in Pisces is conjunct Jupiter in Pisces which amplifies optimism as it forms a supportive sextile to Uranus in Taurus. Change is definitely coming but we still might not know how. #astrology

If you weren't feeling blessed on the New Moon, hold on for March 5 when the Sun and Jupiter conjoin in 14 degrees of Pisces.  This could turn out to be one of the luckiest days of the year.  When the Sun and Jupiter are conjunct, we can expect optimism to abound, good luck to appear and a general sense of well-being and happiness.  Other themes with this aspect include growth, spiritual connections and creative expansion.  It will definitely be a day to dream big and work on creating a miracle.  I am stoked because this aspect falls in my 5th house and trines my Sun and Saturn in Scorpio while also trining my Cancer Midheaven. Of course, we all know that Jupiter loves to do things in a big way, so watch out for boastfulness, extravagance and greed.  That is the shadow side of a Sun-Jupiter conjunction, but I personally think that we can handle it.

On the following day, March 6, both Mars and Venus depart the sign of Capricorn and enter the fixed air sign of Aquarius.  Mars and Venus have been dancing together for quite awhile and they aren't done yet.  This is because of the recent Venus retrograde in December 2021 and through most of January 2022.  Mars enters Aquarius at 1:23 am on the 6th and Venus moves into Aquarius at 1:30 am.  Mars will be in Aquarius until April 14 and Venus will be in Aquarius until April 5.  

I have a vested interest in this because I have a natal Mars in Aquarius.  When Mars is in Aquarius, we are motivated to stand up for our rights and fight for change, using our minds as weapons.  Mars in Aquarius loves fresh ideas and original plans for the future.  It is a real rebel vibe with radical energy levels.  Mars in Aquarius will also be a driving force for humanitarian actions, which are sorely needed now.

Venus in Aquarius is a time when friends could easily become lovers and it is possible to meet someone new through friends.  It is a more detached vibe and it places an unconventional spin on romance.  Honesty and friendship become extremely important in relationships.  High-tech gadgets can also be calling out to us to spend money on them.  It's okay to pursue your own passions now as they could very well generate more money for us.  Yes, Venus is also associated with money as well as love.

Mars and Venus will be conjunct in 0 degrees of Aquarius on March 6.  They were conjunct on the Full Moon of February 16 in 16 degrees of Capricorn.  But Mars and Venus conjunct in Aquarius is a whole different ball game.  Relationships will become more experimental and creative.  We will feel freer to take a break from obsession and rethink old relationship patterns. This conjunction is also triggering the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in 0 degrees of Aquarius that occurred on December 21, 2020.  Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions have a tendency to usher in new cycles.  No one can deny that since the pandemic began in 2020, we are in uncharted territory and a new age is upon us.

The Piscean energy continues on March 9 when Mercury enters Pisces, where it stays until March 27.  Yes, Mercury tends to move pretty fast when it isn't retrograde and March is one month when all of the planets are direct, so make the most of it. Mercury traveling through Pisces has a magical vibe and is great for artists and creative types.  Our thinking is more visual, intuitive and imaginative.  We are more attuned to our emotions but we are not too concise.  Try to embrace the concept of surrender, a key Pisces theme and by all means keep a dream journal because our dreams will probably be sending us a lot of important messages now.

A Spiritually Enlightening New Moon in Pisces that Comes with a Reality Check

 

Pisces season is officially here and we have a New Moon in 12 degrees of Pisces coming up on March 2, 2022.  The Sun moved into Pisces on February 8, when I tweeted:

The energy totally shifts today when the Sun enters Pisces and we are motivated to dream, empathize and be more compassionate towards others. Sensitivity rules. #astrology

Now we all know that New Moons are a time when you should plant the seeds for new intentions.  A New Moon in Pisces has especially creative and spiritual energy.  The themes of truth and freedom are added to the spiritual vibe with that Moon conjunct Jupiter in 14 degrees of Pisces.  It's a literal spiritual upgrade.  By all means engage in a ritual for setting those intentions on this New Moon. This New Moon falls in my 5th house, so I fully plan to make the most of it. But we could also be dealing with highly active and vivid dreams and the potential danger of floods.  The weather this past week has been vacillating like crazy--on February 22, we had temperatures in the 60's on the East Coast and now we are dealing with a snow storm.  The other themes that this New Moon include are health and service to others. These are traditional Piscean issues.  I hate to say it, but whenever Jupiter is involved, there tends to be news about COVID-19 surfacing.  Are we going to hear about yet another variant?  Or will Jupiter just bring news of more scandals emerging? 

There is also a wild card aspect with this New Moon in Pisces because it forms a supportive sextile to Uranus in 11 degrees of Taurus.  Our intuition will be strong on this day so trust your instincts to guide you to finding new solutions to old problems and being more open to the future. Exciting events are likely and we could meet some interesting people.  I personally think that this aspect exists to remind us that change is good...

But there is always something that complicates an otherwise delightful New Moon.  Mercury and Saturn are conjunct in 19 degrees of Aquarius on March 2, 2022.  The combination of Mercury and Saturn is a major reality check indicating that we could be hearing some somber, depressing or distressing news on that day.  There might even be some restrictions to free speech. What is Saturn without some form of restriction? Communication could be on the critical side, but if there is a bright side to this aspect it is that it does tend to be pragmatic and practical, so it might result in some problems being solved.  Hold onto that thought... 

On March 3, we have a real powerhouse aspect in play.  Mars and Venus in Capricorn will conjunct Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn.  This is very confrontational energy that provides drama, passion and romance to the mix.  And of course, in the United States, we are undergoing our Pluto Return. Something tells me this won't be a quiet day.  This ménage-a-trois of Mars, Venus and Pluto in Capricorn is forming an exact opposition to my Uranus in Cancer in my 10th house, as well as opposing my Jupiter in Cancer, squaring my Neptune in Libra in my 1st house and forms a closing conjunction to my Chiron in Capricorn in my 4th house.  So my cardinal T-square will really be feeling the effects of this one...

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Pisces Season Begins and Mercury in Aquarius has a Skirmish with Uranus in Taurus

 

Are you feeling the loving vibes yet?  We just had a Full Moon in Leo on February 16, which featured a beautiful conjunction between the two love planets Mars and Venus in Capricorn.  If not, maybe you were feeling the quincunx or inconjunct aspect between the Moon in Leo and Pluto in Capricorn.  Since the Full Moon was conjunct my Pluto in Leo, I felt a sense of imbalance and was required to make several adjustments. On that day I tweeted:

But if you didn’t reap any benefits from the recent Full Moon, the energy is about to shift dramatically on February 18 when the Sun moves into the mutable water sign of Pisces.  There will be more of an emphasis on emotions and feelings, which is quite a difference from the cerebral nature of the fixed Sun in Aquarius.  We will be motivated to feel, imagine and dream. Empathy, compassion and selflessness will also prevail.  Our intuition and instincts will be more accessible and our emotional sensitivity and spirituality will be heightened.  Creativity will also flourish when the Sun is in Pisces, so this should be a boon for artists, musicians, writers and anyone in the performing arts.

I always feel a bit lighter when the Sun is in Pisces because it starts its transit in my 5^th house of romance, creativity, children and just plain fun.  Not to mention that it makes all of those lovely trines it makes to my Scorpio and Cancer planets.  Of course, we all need to be mindful of the shadow side of Pisces: a tendency to embrace escapism through drugs, alcohol, food or shopping as well as adopting a victim or martyr role.  There can be some confusion present when the Sun is in Pisces because it is such a dreamy sign.  So just be careful not to view the world through rose-colored glasses for the next month.

We shouldn’t forget that the Sun is joining not only Jupiter, but Neptune in Pisces.  Neptune in Pisces is about to see some sweet action from Mars and Venus. Mars in Capricorn will be forming a supportive sextile to Neptune in 22 degrees of Pisces on February 23.  This aspect will increase our sensual desires and has a very romantic vibe. It also fuels our spiritual energy and we can feel compelled to act on reaching our goals.  Since Mars and Venus have been traveling together, Venus will sextile Neptune in 22 degrees of Pisces on the following day, February 24.  Venus sextiling Neptune will inspire us to be more active in our creative endeavors and we just might want to pencil in some more quality time with a loved one.

But we are not done with the Aquarius energy quite yet.  Mercury in Aquarius will be forming an exact square to Uranus in 11 degrees of Taurus on February 24.  I have a natal Mercury-Uranus square and I can tell you that like all squares, it generates a lot of tension.  It is definitely nervous tension that can bring flashes of insight but also impatience. Excitement and change will be in the air but it is very easy to get distracted with this aspect in play. Different perspectives will abound, but be careful not to make any major decisions if you can help it now.  And don’t be surprised if electronics and computers malfunction on this day.

A Full Moon in Leo and a Lucky Break with Jupiter in Pisces Sextiling Uranus in Taurus

 

The month of February is zipping right along.  Mars in Capricorn was trining Uranus in Taurus on February 8, inspiring me to tweet:

The major aspect of the day is Mars in Capricorn trining Uranus in Taurus. This can be very liberating in terms of helping us to act in busting out of restrictive situations. But the course of action might be surprising. #astrology

On February 11, 2022, we have the third and final conjunction of Mercury and Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn.  The first one occurred on December 30, 2021 and the second one happened on January 29, 2022 when Mercury was retrograde.  I encourage you all to think back to what was going on in your lives back then.  Mercury and Pluto hooking up in Capricorn can bring big reveals about deep-rooted secrets and they have strong themes of power, control, force and concentrated energy.  This could be an important day in the United States because this aspect touches on the upcoming Pluto Return for America, which is in 27 degrees of Capricorn.  The first hit of the United States Pluto Return occurs on February 22, 2022 and we will feel it again in July and December 2022.  So let’s just say that we will be feeling it all year and into next year.  Big changes are afoot…

Mercury is entering the sign of Aquarius on Valentine’s Day, February 14 and it stays in Aquarius until March 9.  When Mercury is in Aquarius, our communication becomes more spontaneous, progressive and objective.  We are more inclined to think outside of the box.  It’s a very future-oriented sign and we could have a tendency to rationalize our emotions.

A heart-centered Full Moon in 27 degrees of Leo is in store for us on February 16, just two days after Valentine’s Day.  The vibe should hopefully be romantic and hopeful as we seek to find a balance between the opposing principles of balancing our individual needs vs. the community.  Since this Full Moon occurs just two days after Valentine’s Day, when the Moon was in its home sign of Cancer for the early part of the day when it opposes Venus, Mars and Pluto in Capricorn, we are bound to still be feeling some of its intensity and drama.  Venus and Mars are conjunct in 16 degrees of Capricorn on the Full Moon, which can bring sudden new relationships or social connections. But Mars and Venus are traveling quite closely together until early April, so if you are unattached, you will have plenty of chances for love.  The Full Moon in Leo is also forming an irritating inconjunct or quincunx (150 degrees apart) with Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn which could lead to compulsive or obsessive behavior, lots of intensity and a tendency for the ego to be overpowered by karmic habits.

This Full Moon in Leo might also cause you to reassess whatever projects you initiated on the New Moon in Leo back on August 8, 2021.  If you began a relationship back then either you are taking it to the next level or calling it quits if it is no longer viable.  Just remember that there are strong themes of courage, passion, creativity and love involved with a Full Moon in Leo.  The Full Moon is also forming a Grand Cross with the Nodes of the Moon, which changed signs in January.  The Full Moon is squaring the North Node in 27 degrees of Taurus and the South Node in 27 degrees of Scorpio.  Add in the Sun in 27 degrees of Aquarius to the mix and we have a tremendous amount of fixed energy.  All of this fixed energy entails determination, tenacity and the ability to stick to our truth as we pursue our soul path.

But the best day so far, probably one of the luckiest days of the year, falls on February 17 when Jupiter in 11 degrees of Pisces forms an exact and  supportive sextile to Uranus in 11 degrees of Taurus. This is an aspect that creates opportunities for expansion, growth, creativity and freedom.  Good luck could crop up in our lives seemingly out of the blue and our finances might change for the better in the form of sudden windfalls.  We are being pushed out of our comfort zone but it won’t be that difficult to experiment with something new because Jupiter in Pisces is protecting us.  Make a little effort and you should see rewarding results.  If you gamble, this is the day to buy a lottery ticket.

I have a natal Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Cancer in my 10^th house,  so I am very familiar with the energy of these two planets when they meet up.  I am excited about this aspect because Jupiter is transiting my 5^th house and Uranus is in my 7^th house.
