The month of
January is ending with a blast of fire energy as Mars enters Sagittarius on
January 26, 2018 and we literally end the month with a blue moon lunar eclipse
in 11 degrees of Leo on January 31, 2018.
Mars is
entering the sign of Sagittarius on January 26, 2018, where it will remain
until March 17, 2018. Mars may not rule
Sagittarius, but it is still pretty comfortable in Sagittarius. When Mars is in Sagittarius, its actions are
motivated by ideals and we crave adventure.
It is not quite as focused as Mars in Scorpio because it doesn’t want to
be bothered with the details. Mars in
Sagittarius is involved in a pursuit of spiritual desires and a quest for
freedom. It is expansive, optimistic,
impulsive and prone to taking risks.
When Mars is in Sagittarius, it is prime time to travel, although the
travel doesn’t necessarily have to be physical; it can also lead to expansion
of the mind by reading or other forms of consciousness raising.
January 2018
began with a full moon in 11 degrees of Cancer on January 1st and it
ends on the 31st with a full moon in 11 degrees of Leo, which is
also a Lunar Eclipse. Whenever we have
two full moons during a month, the second one is referred to as a Blue Moon
because it is a rare occurrence. This
full moon also kicks off eclipse season for 2018, which features five instead
of the usual four eclipses. The next
eclipse will be a solar eclipse and will occur on February 15, 2018 in 27
degrees of Aquarius.
It is truly a
stellar lineup for this lunar eclipse on January 31, 2018. A lunar eclipse in the sign of Leo will have
a focus on children, creativity and living in the heart from a place of love. It could be a very romantic time as
well. But one very important thing to
keep in mind is that this lunar eclipse in Leo will be a north node eclipse,
which will seriously affect our collective future destiny. It gives us a measure of control as to how
things will play out. When there is a
south node eclipse, we tend to feel somewhat powerless as if matters are not in
our control. A north node eclipse can
feel very empowering.
Eclipses tend
to travel in pairs, and the next eclipse will be a solar eclipse on February
15, 2018 in 27 degrees of Aquarius. The
bottom line is that the lunar eclipse in 11 degrees of Leo will undoubtedly
trigger some issues from the lunar eclipse on August 7, 2017 in 15 degrees of
Aquarius, and the solar eclipse on February 15th in 27 degrees of
Aquarius will stir up some issues from the great American solar eclipse on
August 21, 2017 in 28 degrees of Leo. Try to reflect on what was going on back
in August for you in your life. These
eclipses may give you come closure or resolution.
The lunar
eclipse in 11 degrees of Leo will be exactly conjunct the dwarf planet Ceres in
11 degrees of Leo. This is a very
interesting combination because the moon is associated with traditional
nurturing, while Ceres adds a more a stronger, more independent flavor to its
nurturing style. It very much symbolizes
the single mother prototype.
The full moon
in 11 degrees of Leo is also opposing Venus in 16 degrees of Aquarius, which
can set up a real conflict between the head and the heart as part of this lunar
eclipse. Adding to the mix of the sun and
Juno (aka the marriage asteroid) in Aquarius, Mercury joins the Aquarius party
on January 31, 2018 just 12 minutes after the lunar eclipse. Mercury will remain in Aquarius until
February 17, 2018.
Last, but
definitely not least, the full moon in 11 degrees of Leo will be forming a
challenging, irritating inconjunct to Neptune in 12 degrees of Pisces. This aspect can manifest in conflicting feelings,
a sense of being overwhelmed by our emotions and can provoke a total meltdown
or strong desire to escape everything.
At its highest form, it can represent unconditional love, but only if we
strive to make some adjustments. And
that is truly the lesson involved with inconjunct aspects – adjust to co-exist.
This lunar
eclipse will definitely bring change to your life and the best way to determine
where that change will manifest is to look at which houses are being activated by
the Aquarius/Leo axis. For me
personally, the Aquarius sun falls in my 4th house and the Leo moon
falls in my 10th house. Issues of home/work balance and domestic
life vs. career will be involved. This
makes perfect sense to me because I do much of my astrology and psychic work
out of my home, while my Reiki work is done outside the home.
If you are
curious as to how all of the planetary changes, including eclipses, Saturn in
Capricorn and Jupiter in Scorpio will be affecting you in 2018, please consider
getting an astrological reading. A transit
reading might be just what you need right now to make the most of Jupiter in
Scorpio. Jupiter transits are all about
taking advantage of opportunities and if you snooze you lose with Jupiter. You have to be aware and strike while the
iron is hot. The Services Offered page of my site describes the menu of
services that I offer. There is something for everyone.
My site also
offers the opportunity to provide a donation in the amount of your choice to
demonstrate your support for my blog and daily astrological insights on Twitter

A
contribution in any amount is deeply appreciated as gratitude is a daily part
of my spiritual practice.
The
past week of January also featured a very powerful conjunction between Mercury
and Pluto in 19 degrees of Capricorn on January 24th, which inspired
me to tweet:
As I mentioned last week, I was scheduled for cataract surgery on January 24th. And during the end of my surgery, I remember my surgeon saying that she was 99% done but my cataract was a little tough to get out. Talk about digging deep! But my follow-up visit the next day confirmed that I was healing nicely. I am deeply grateful to the nurses, anesthesiology staff and my surgeon at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston for making this surgery run so smoothly. We are able to dig deep and get to the root of matters today as Mercury and Pluto are conjunct in Capricorn. Just watch out for a tendency to be obsessive. #astrology— Linda Simons (@danceofphoenix) January 24, 2018
Recently I
undertook an intensive life purpose coaching training program and became
certified as a Life Purpose Coach. It
was an intense, eye-opening experience that changed my life as it caused me to
reflect on the story of my life. But I
left it with feelings of hope and light for the future that I want to share
with others. To that end, I am now
offering Life Purpose Coaching to my menu of services. You can read more about it at:
As an
astrologer, I have decided to include an interpretation of the north node by sign.
If you are feeling stuck and need some help in getting from Point A to Point B
in your quest for making positive changes in your life, please email me at lindasim54@gmail.com to schedule a complementary telephone
consultation to discover if you are a good fit for this program. I look forward to hearing from you.
If you are in
the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for
Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to
healing. It’s a perfect way to start
your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot! Reiki is the most profound treatment for
stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.
For
more information on my Reiki services, please see this page on my site:
For
my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have
difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions
for them. I have a conversation with
them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the
session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy
and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and
my perception of their blockages. I have
also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I
don’t always have a photo of my client.
I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where
it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email
at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205. I am also offering Reiki treatments in the Coolidge
Corner section of Brookline on Sunday afternoons.
But
the big news is that I have created and launched a new website devoted exclusively
to my Reiki practice. Please feel free to check it out at:
I
was also featured in the July 3rd edition of Boston Voyager, an online
publication that runs a section called Inspiring Stories about local
entrepreneurs on its home page. The
Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so
my story certainly debuted under fitting aspects. Please feel free to check it out:
In
the spirit of the New Year, I have revised my package deals and I am now
offering two options for package deals: Silver and a Tarot special for my tarot
clients. Please check it out at:
