Planets on the Move and a New Moon in Scorpio

The month of November is starting off with a bang and promises to be chock full of planetary activity.  On November 1st I tweeted:
On November 6, 2018, the action really starts when the nodes of the moon change signs.  The north node of the moon represents our collective destiny and the south node represents our karmic past.  The north node moves into Cancer on November 6th after 18 months in Leo and the south node moves into Capricorn after having spent 18 months in Aquarius.  Leo and Aquarius are pretty extroverted signs, so this will be a big change as Cancer and Capricorn tend to be more conservative and inward looking.  The north node in Cancer will be focused on emotional security while the south node in Capricorn will be attuned to practical and financial security.  The south node in Capricorn is also associated with themes of abuse of power and increased accountability.  Capricorn is, after all, ruled by Saturn and responsibility is a key trait with both Saturn and Capricorn.  The south node in Capricorn will be adding to the mix of Saturn and Pluto that are already ensconced in the sign of Capricorn.

On a personal level, this nodal change will be activating my cardinal T-square involving Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer, Neptune in Libra and Chiron in Capricorn.  My Jupiter in 29 degrees of Cancer will be the first to feel this cardinal jolt of energy, while my Uranus, Neptune and Chiron will feel it in February 2019.

Retrograde Uranus slips back into Aries on November 6, 2018 as well.  Uranus will remain in Aries until March 2019 and then it remains in Taurus for another seven years.  Retrograde Uranus in Aries is squaring the nodal axis in 29 degrees of Cancer and Capricorn and will be forming an irritating inconjunct Jupiter in 29 degrees of Scorpio.  When Uranus is inconjunct Jupiter, social and civil unrest can prevail as well as a desire for more equality in society.  Uranus is also forming a supportive sextile to Mars in Aquarius, so this can definitely be a day of action, even if it does include disruptions, diversions and breaking of agreements.  Ironically, it is also the day of the midterm elections in the United States. I wouldn’t rule out some type of upheaval on Election Day because Mars in Aquarius, as it was during the election of 2016.  But Mars had just entered Aquarius in November 2016 and now, after an extended stay in Aquarius due to the Mars Retrograde, Mars is winding up its stint in Aquarius and will enter Pisces on November 15, 2018.

On November 7, 2018, we have a powerful New Moon in 15 degrees of Scorpio.  Scorpio is not exactly a lightweight sign, so this will undoubtedly be a very intense and passionate time, as passion, intensity and transformation are traits associated with Scorpio. The sun and moon in 15 degrees of Scorpio will be favorably trining Neptune in 13 degree of Pisces, we are talking spiritual transformation here.  It is very creative energy which allows us the opportunity to tune into our spiritual compass.  The best way to make the most of this new moon in Scorpio is to go deep inside (would Scorpio do it any other way) and trust your intuition.  I am personally thrilled that this new moon is conjunct my Scorpio sun in my 2nd house, not so much enthused that it is also conjunct my Saturn in my 1st house.  I plan on setting some new intentions for my values and finances with this Scorpio new moon.

Jupiter makes it move into its home sign of Sagittarius on the following day, November 8, 2018 where it stays until December 2, 2019.  Jupiter rules Sagittarius and is truly a happy camper in Sagittarius.  It’s literally in its happy place. Jupiter spends a little over a year in each sign, so think back to late November 2006 to get a beat on how transiting Jupiter in Sagittarius will affect you.  You may find some of the same issues popping up.  If you have your sun, moon, ascendant or personal planets in Sagittarius, you will reap the benefits of this transit.

Jupiter in Sagittarius is all about expansion, travel, personal growth, morality, ethics, religion and belief systems.  There will definitely be a search for more meaning in whatever area of life Jupiter in Sagittarius touches.  Jupiter in Sagittarius starts out in my 2nd house and moves into my 3rd house in mid-January 2019.  Self-improvement and freedom of the press will be key issues of this Jupiter transit.  Jupiter in Sagittarius is also about the law.  When Jupiter entered Scorpio in October 2017, the Me Too movement was launched against sexual harassment and sexual violence.  With Jupiter in Sagittarius, it may be time to go to court as part of the Time’s Up Movement which was founded in early 2018 in response to the Harvey Weinstein allegations.  Time’s Up aims to empower women by ensuring that they have equality in the workplace and the funds necessary for legal actions.  Jupiter in Scorpio let the genie out of the bottle regarding sexual harassment and now Jupiter in Sagittarius will take the mantle and move the fight into court. Jupiter is very idealistic in Sagittarius and can really make a difference in terms of ending this sordid period in our culture and providing the opportunity for a new beginning where women feel more legally empowered.

If you are curious as to how all of the planetary changes will be affecting you, please consider getting an astrological reading.  The Services Offered page of my site describes the menu of services that I offer. I even offer the option of tarot readings. There is something for everyone.

And don’t forget about my Venus Retrograde Special.
My site also offers the opportunity to provide a donation in the amount of your choice to demonstrate your support for my blog and daily astrological insights on Twitter at:

A contribution in any amount is deeply appreciated as gratitude is a daily part of my spiritual practice.

Recently I undertook an intensive life purpose coaching training program and became certified as a Life Purpose Coach.  It was an intense, eye-opening experience that changed my life as it caused me to reflect on the story of my life.  But I left it with feelings of hope and light for the future that I want to share with others.  To that end, I am now offering Life Purpose Coaching to my menu of services.  You can read more about it at:

As an astrologer, I have decided to include an interpretation of the north node by sign. If you are feeling stuck and need some help in getting from Point A to Point B in your quest for making positive changes in your life, please email me at lindasim54@gmail.com to schedule a complementary telephone consultation to discover if you are a good fit for this program.  I look forward to hearing from you.

If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to healing.  It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot!   Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.

For more information on my Reiki services, please see this page on my site:

For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.  I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages.  I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205.  I am also offering Reiki treatments in the Coolidge Corner section of Brookline on Sunday afternoons.

But the big news is that I have created and launched a new website devoted exclusively to my Reiki practice. Please feel free to check it out at:

I was also featured in the July 3, 2017 edition of Boston Voyager, an online publication that runs a section called Inspiring Stories about local entrepreneurs on its home page.  The Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so my story certainly debuted under fitting aspects.  Please feel free to check it out:

I have also revised my package deals and I am now offering two options for package deals: Silver and a Tarot special for my tarot clients. Please check it out at:
