Scorpio Season and a Venus Jupiter Party with Pluto

It is officially Scorpio season as of 1:47 p.m. on October 23rd and it kicks off with a quite a punch.  The moon enters Pisces at 1:18 a.m., adding more emotional intensity and sensitivity to the mix.  But more importantly, Scorpio’s ruling planet, Pluto, currently in the sign of Capricorn, forms a delightful trine with Venus in Virgo at 3:43 a.m.  Venus trining Pluto favors creative and artistic endeavors and focuses heavily on relationships.  The only potential drawback with this aspect is a tendency to get caught up in obsession.  Venus Pluto aspects tend to have a rather obsessive quality to them, but the trine, especially in earth signs, can help mitigate any damage that would be more likely to occur with the square or opposition.  Trust me, I have a Venus Pluto square in fixed signs, and it literally breathes tenacity and obsessiveness in relationships.

If any of you have planets or points (like your midheaven, nodes of the moon or ascendant) in 10-16 degrees of the water (Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio) or earth (Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo) signs, you will feel this Venus Pluto transit big-time.  The Venus Pluto trine in earth signs can provide assistance in transforming relationships by fixing them.  Venus is in Virgo, which likes to fix and heal, while Pluto in Capricorn is a real go getter in terms of achieving goals.  As for me, my Saturn in 12 degrees of Scorpio is smack in the middle of this aspect courtesy of having both Venus and Pluto sextiling it.  This should be very interesting with all that action in my 11th, 1st and 3rd houses…

It’s no secret that I have a vested interest in Scorpio season because it is my sign and it’s my time to shine.  But the concept of shining is a rather intriguing one for Scorpios, because Scorpio is all about secretiveness and getting to the bottom of things.  Other themes associated with Scorpio include intensity, passion, strong will, complexity, resourcefulness, tenacity, loyalty, regeneration and revenge if feeling betrayed.  Scorpio can be your best friend but your worst enemy in the world if you cross them.  Scorpio is the fixed water sign and it carries a lot of emotional baggage.  Out of all the water signs, Scorpio is probably the least likely to reveal its emotions, because its mantra is “Still waters run deep.”  The Scorpio season is a powerhouse time, not for lightweights and will deliver much intensity in the coming weeks. If the intensity starts to overwhelm you, just breathe and rest assured that the vibe will lighten when the Sun enters Sagittarius on November 22nd.

It’s no secret that Scorpios have experienced a rather challenging couple of years with Saturn in Scorpio from 2012 to 2015, but now that Saturn is finally out of Scorpio after a brief return from June to September 2015, Scorpios are free to reclaim their title of the comeback kids of the zodiac.  I love the fact that Michael Lutin once commented that if any sign could survive a nuclear holocaust, it would be Scorpio!

On October 25th, Venus and Jupiter will be conjunct in Virgo, which is definitely conducive energy for partying, finances and relationships in general.  While neither Venus nor Jupiter is exactly comfortable in Virgo (Venus is considered to be in fall in Virgo), we should still be able to enjoy this aspect if we don’t get too caught up in micromanaging the details that Virgo loves to obsess over.  Jupiter in Virgo requires us to have faith that all will work out in the end if we have done our due diligence. Venus and Jupiter will also be conjunct Mars in Virgo, providing us with the energy to move forward.  And we are still under the influence of that Venus Pluto trine, which is now involving Mars and Jupiter.  Scorpio energy will be quite intense and vibrant on October 25th thanks to Pluto’s influence.

We have one other aspect on October 25th that holds the potential for some unexpected communication to erupt.  Mercury in Libra will be opposing Uranus in Aries, so don’t rule out the possibility of some heated discussions or problems with computers, electronics, or transportation difficulties.  It may briefly feel like a Mercury retrograde, but I assure you that Mercury is safely out of the shadow of its most recent challenging Mercury retrograde.  But if you have any planets or points in 15- 21 degrees of the cardinal signs of Capricorn, Cancer, Libra or Aries, you may experience some of this disruptive energy.  Don’t shoot the messenger, I am just trying to give you fair warning…

I am channeling that Jupiter, Mars and Venus in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services. MIghty Mars Heats Up the Action

Mars in Virgo has really been heating things up this week to pave the way for constructive change by trining Pluto in Capricorn on October 15th in preparation for its conjunction to Jupiter in Virgo on October 17th.  On October 15th, I tweeted:

“Mars in Virgo trining Pluto in Capricorn today can fuel the passion to find solutions for healing & practical improvements.”

Mars and Pluto are deemed to be the rulers of Scorpio (Mars claimed the title before Pluto was discovered in 1930), so it is huge to have them favorably interacting, smoothing the waters for deep change and transformation.  Scorpios are heavily impacted by this aspect and I am convinced that it was no cosmic accident that we also had the moon in Scorpio from the evening of October 13th through the wee hours of the morning of October 16th.  On October 13th, I posted the following tweet that resonated big time for many people with over 6700 views:

“Moon enters watery Scorpio tonight bringing on more emotional intensity and opportunities for transformation.”

That Scorpio moon also sextiled Mars, Venus and Jupiter in Virgo on October 14th while also sextiling Pluto in Capricorn.  This was a boon for improving relationships. Mars trining Pluto is definitely a positive force for leading us on the road to change and Scorpio especially will reap the benefits of these two power house planets working together. It literally is like having your home team rooting for you.

On October 17th, Mars conjuncts Jupiter in Virgo.  This is a very big deal because we only experience this aspect once every two years.  It is a potent combination of action and enthusiasm for growth.  Mars conjunct Jupiter in the sign of Virgo can trigger a desire to be of service to others and promote healing.

Mars and Jupiter are currently transiting my 11th house.  Mars will enter my 12th house on October 22nd and Jupiter will begin its transit of my 12th house on November 1st.  Mars and Jupiter transiting my 11th house has been providing me with the energy to pursue my goals and interact with new groups.  Jupiter in Virgo asks us to trust our instincts, and I have trusted my instincts to the point where I actually sought out a volunteer position in my community.  This is something I never dreamed I would do.  Talk about the power of Jupiter in Virgo!  I also attended a QPR Suicide Prevention Training on October 15th, the day of the Mars Pluto trine.  Once again, I have every confidence that this was no accident.

When Mars transits my 12th house I expect that I will be doing even more reflecting and researching on my goals.  My dreams are always on the intense side, but I anticipate that I will derive even more insight from them during this period.  And on December 12th Mars in Libra will enter my 1st house, which will clear the decks for action.

Jupiter transiting my 12th house will be a much longer transit, lasting until December 2016.  Jupiter in the 12th house is reputed to offer spiritual protection and renewal, and who can’t use a little of that?  It also generates compassion, empathy and sensitivity while providing access to our subconscious mind.  I am relying on it to guide me on my spiritual path in the coming year.

Neptune in Pisces also featured prominently in this action.  On October 14th it trined that Scorpio moon, adding an even deeper spiritual dimension to the mix.  Neptune will also be opposing Venus in Virgo on October 16th, which can create that notorious Neptunian fog regarding idealized affection in relationships and a proclivity towards the victim role.   Neptune continues to engage in more subterfuge when it inconjuncts Mercury in Libra on October 18th.  So beware of some truths being obscured at this time.  Not everything you hear could be true and there may be some important facts omitted.  Never rule out the power of Neptune.

The bottom line is that change is definitely in the air and there is support for positive change and growth, courtesy of Mars and Jupiter in Virgo making nice with Pluto in Capricorn.  Pluto is all about deep transformation and it’s pretty sweet to catch a break in moving forward after the recent eclipses and retrogrades of Mercury and Venus.

I am channeling that Jupiter, Mars and Venus in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services. Back on Track – Mercury Stations Direct in Libra and New Moon in Libra

 .
YIPPEE, HALLELUJAH!  After what seems like an eternity in Mercury retrograde land, Mercury is FINALLY STATIONING DIRECT in 0 degrees of Libra at 10:57 a.m. on October 9, 2015.  A collective sigh of relief is being heard round the world.  While it may not instaneously restore order to all of the communication, computer and transportation snafus we have been experiencing since it stationed retrograde on September 17th, relief is definitely in sight. The energy of a planet is always particularly intense when it stations direct or retrograde, so it may take a couple of days for things to return to some semblance of normality. As an added perk, when Mercury stations direct, it conjuncts the north node in Libra.  This aspect gives a boost to achieving more balance in our relationships and steering us back on track to move forward with our soul’s destiny.

We have multiple astrological opportunities to get our relationships back on track in addition to Mercury direct in Libra.  There is a new moon in 19 degrees of Libra on October 12, 2015 which will be very powerful.  And on October 8th, Venus entered the sign of Virgo after a four month stay in Leo due to this summer’s Venus retrograde.  Venus in Virgo is described as being in fall because it is not strong in the sign of Virgo and is directly opposite the sign of Pisces, which is Venus exalted.  Venus in Virgo expresses love through actions, not grand romantic gestures.

The flip side of Venus in Virgo is that it also tends to be perfectionist and hypercritical.  It can take wanting to fix people to a level of codependency if we’re not careful.  Relationships can literally become projects for some people during this transit or if they have it natally.  Character and integrity are very important with Venus is in Virgo.  Both Eleanor Roosevelt and Martha Stewart have Venus in Virgo; in different ways, both women strived for perfection in areas of life that were important to them.

Venus will be in Virgo until November 8, 2015 and it will make some challenging aspects that will test our mettle in relationships.  On October 10th it will square Saturn in Sagittarius and this aspect heralds the call for a reality check in relationships.  Saturn has a way of forcing us to deal with the realities of life.  On October 16th, Venus in Virgo will be opposing Neptune in Pisces.  This aspect has the potential for projection of our victim, savior or martyr issues to spill out into relationships, as well being a breeding ground for deception.

But let’s take a look at how this powerful Libra New Moon will play out for us on October 12th, which is actually observed as Columbus Day in the United States.  Both the sun and moon will be opposing Uranus in Aries, so don’t rule out sudden, extreme changes that can rock our world but ultimately set us on the proper course.  And any deception that may have been obscured by the recent eclipses may come to light.  Libra seeks balance and equality, and Uranus may very well deliver the means to that end in a rather shocking way.

The new moon will be conjunct my Libra Ascendant and forming a wide conjunction to my natal Neptune, so I don’t think it will be a boring new moon for me.  I am eagerly anticipating a restoration of order and balance in my life, especially since the sun entered my 1st house on October 10th.  I never really enjoy the sun’s annual transit to my 12th house, but I realize its importance and necessity.  This year it coincided with Mercury retrograde, which kind of reinforced the whole theme of reviewing the past year.  I think that my biggest issue with the sun’s 12th house transit is that I tend to feel invisible and that my physical vitality is lowered so that I am more susceptible to illness.  So having a New Moon on my ascendant is literally bringing me out of the shadows, restoring my physical energy and offering me an opportunity to shine.  Bring it on!

Jupiter in Virgo is also playing a featured role in this new moon.  Jupiter in Virgo is all about opportunity coming through service to others, and it is a stickler for details.  I was speaking with a friend this week who has a natal Jupiter in Virgo and she confessed that while it is a blessing for doing detail oriented work, it also causes her to get bogged down in details.  On the evening of October 11th, approximately 24 hours before the New Moon, Jupiter in Virgo trines Pluto in Capricorn.  And this is a good thing because Pluto in Capricorn affords us the opportunity to feel empowered in transforming our material life if we pay attention to the details and engage in due diligence.  Jupiter, like Venus, is not all that comfortable in Virgo.  After all, they are affectionately known as the Benefics, and they like to have a good time.  Virgo is not exactly the good time girl; she is more of a “good girl” who does what needs to be done and serves others.  Think back a few months when both Jupiter and Venus were in Leo—it was a very different type of energy which was perfect for the summer season.  Leo likes to shine and party.  Virgo is more reserved and modest.

I am channeling that Jupiter and Venus in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services. Eclipse Aftermath and Mercury Retrograde

The lunar eclipse of September 27, 2015 was a beautiful sight to behold if you observed it and while I count myself fortunate to have seen it, its aftermath and repercussions have been lingering this past week.  It was reputed to pack a strong emotional wallop, but for many people, the emotional undercurrent didn’t really hit until the following days.  The bottom line with this eclipse was that repressing emotions was not an option.  The eclipse opposed the south node of the moon and simultaneously conjuncted the north node, which facilitated the resolution of old karmic issues.  Astrologer Kristin Fontana described it as a fallout period where we will be putting certain pieces back together again so that our lives will be put in motion in a way that reflects the events of the past two weeks.  She certainly nailed it with this description!

Mars in Virgo formed an exact square to Saturn in Sagittarius on September 25th and this seemed to be the message for me personally as a result of this eclipse.  As I have previously noted, Mars squaring Saturn is all about frustrations, limitations and delays.  I swear that this aspect just prior to the eclipse triggered my own natal Mars Saturn square. It can also contribute to feelings of depression.  I felt perfectly fine and emotionally calm on the day of the eclipse, but by Monday I was definitely feeling its effects.  On September 28th, I tweeted:

“Uranus Pluto square is activated today by Aries moon conjunct Uranus and squaring Pluto in Capricorn.  Aftereffects of eclipse.”

“Communication could still be on edge today with Mercury in Libra opposing Aries moon.  More conflict between we and me.”

I experienced irritation and impatience throughout my day.  I acknowledge that a major theme of the eclipse is letting go of what is no longer serving my best interests, but letting go doesn’t come easy for me.  I am a fixed sign and Scorpio is not known for giving up easily.  On a soul level, I know that some major changes are necessary in my life but I have this annoying little problem of not having enough faith to trust in the process.

On Tuesday, September 29th, retrograde Mercury in Libra was inconjunct Neptune in Pisces and this continued to wreak havoc by reinforcing the theme of denial.  Of course Mercury in Libra wants to say everything is fine and Neptune in Pisces prefers to deny any semblance of imbalance or conflict.  Mercury retrograde was on a tear that day for me personally, as my cell phone started taking on a life of its own and my tablet was extremely slow.  I heard similar stories from other people: computers crashed, buses never showed up, and another friend experienced an inability to access email and delete apps on her phone after downloading a new operating system on her iPhone.  Even my computer got in on the Mercury retrograde action on October 1st by downloading and installing updates while I was trying to write this post.  It is literally a miracle that this week’s post exists.

I have been working as a telephone psychic on a couple of networks for the past six months, dating back to the solar eclipse of March 20th in 29 degrees of Pisces.  So perhaps it should not come as a surprise to me that when I logged in on September 29th, there was no record of my being available on the site and no calls. This recent lunar eclipse in 4 degrees of Aries is challenging the decisions I made during that eclipse.  Business has slowed down, and obviously Mercury retrograde wasn’t helping.  But patience is not one of my strong suits and waiting for the phone to ring is not my idea of fun, so I am trying to accept the message that the universe is delivering that this work was transitional for me.  I am stubborn and tenacious, but sometimes you just gotta let go.  I have to practice what I preach.  I want to be doing more astrology and Reiki work in addition to readings, so I am trying to let go of this part of my life.  On September 30th, the Libra Sun conjuncted that retrograde Mercury, which may very well have been the vehicle that I needed to deliver a message that was crucial to my wellbeing and sanity.

On October 6th, Mars in Virgo will be in direct opposition to Neptune in Pisces at 7 degrees, so we can expect more craziness to emerge.  Literally, our subconscious is casting a shadow on our real life.  Our addictions to fears, worries, boundary issues and anger can manifest as pretend outrage.  But hopefully we can take productive action to manifest a better reality instead of getting tripped up by our egos.

Mercury will resume direct motion in 0 degrees of Libra on October 9th, so relief is in sight.  On October 8th Venus will re-enter Virgo, where it has not been since July 31st due to the extended Venus retrograde in Leo period.  Venus in Virgo will put the focus on service to others and healing.  Change is coming; that is the real aftermath of the recent lunar eclipse.

I am focusing more energy on developing my Reiki practice as a result of the recent eclipses. I am now practicing on Friday evenings. Sunday Bloody Sunday- Super Blood Moon Eclipse

Is the world coming to an end on Sunday, September 27th at 10:51 p.m. with the total lunar eclipse?  This is a rare event, the first super blood moon eclipse since 1982 and the 4th in a series of blood moon eclipses that began in April 2014.  Historically, blood moon eclipses have been associated with powerful changes, endings and beginnings.  Religious circles have had a tendency in the past to interpret blood moon eclipses as either an apocalypse or Armageddon.  While I doubt that the world will come to an end, I do sense that the world as we know it is headed for many changes.

This event is a big deal, both astrologically and astronomically.  While lunar eclipses are not that rare (just your average full moon on steroids), this one is a supermoon because the moon makes such a close approach to the earth that the moon, which will be visible, appears red or coppery.  The cycle of four blood moon eclipses began on April 14-15, 2014 in the sign of Libra.  The next blood moon eclipse occurred on October 7-8, 2014 in the sign of Aries.  The third blood moon eclipse occurred on April 4, 2015 in the sign of Libra and the fourth will happen on September 27, 2015 in 4 degrees of Aries.  The continuing themes of these eclipses pertain to relationships (Libra) and new beginnings (Aries).  I think it is fair to say that whatever story began in our lives back in April 2014 with relationships and new beginnings may come to a close or a resolution will be in order.  I loved what astrologer Jessica Adams had to say about blood moon eclipses tending to be about cover-ups.  This seems to be an accurate description given today’s political climate.  And we all know that eclipses tend to obscure things, so be aware that there may be temporary blind spots.  It could be months before the truth is finally revealed.

This eclipse is especially potent because with the Aries moon opposing the Libra Sun, lessons of cooperation and reassessment in relationships are at the forefront while trying to balance the Aries energy of individuality and self-determination.  Astrologer Molly Hall interpreted the theme of this full moon as “achieving balance between me and we.”  She definitely nailed it!

There was a major planetary build up to this eclipse, featuring Pluto stationing direct in 12 degrees of Capricorn on September 25th.  Pluto has been retrograde since April 16, 2015.  Pluto direct will bring major changes and free us from places we have been stuck in by empowering us.  Mars entered Virgo on September 24th and promptly squared Saturn in Sagittarius on September 25th as well.  Mars squaring Saturn is all about aggravation, frustration and control issues.  Trust me on this one—I have a natal Mars Saturn square in my chart in fixed signs, and it ain’t pretty or easy to live with.  The saving grace of this Mars Saturn square is that at least it falls in mutable signs, so we may find it easier to learn Saturn’s lessons and not let ourselves get too frustrated in the process. With Saturn in Sagittarius, Saturn’s lesson will probably manifest as a test of faith with the square to Mars in Virgo.

So, the heavy hitters of Mars, Pluto and Saturn are featured prominently in the prelude to this super blood moon eclipse.  Pluto in Capricorn also squared Mercury in Libra on September 24th, inspiring me to tweet:

“Communication can get sharp today as retrograde Mercury in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn.  Old issues & themes may resurface.”

Neptune in Pisces further reinforces the theme of obscuring information by opposing both Mars and Jupiter in Virgo.  Neptune wants creativity and some escapism, but we are all better off if we channel the Virgo qualities of moderation, patience and devotion constructively.  Easier said than done.

On a personal level, this eclipse in 4 degrees of Aries falls in my 6th house of work, health and daily routines.  Next week I am changing my hours of Reiki treatment from Thursday morning to Friday evenings, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  So my daily routine in terms of when I practice healing in a work setting is definitely changing.  I am hoping that this results in an increase in business so that people will have the opportunity to de-stress after a tough week at work.  If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to healing.  It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off.  Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.

Reality Bites as Jupiter and Neptune Tango While Mercury Retrogrades in Libra and Saturn Moves into Sagittarius

The period between eclipses is jam packed with astrological activity that culminated in some major turning points on September 17th.  The day got off to an early start at 2:54 a.m. with Jupiter in Virgo opposing Neptune in Pisces.  Jupiter in Virgo is very service oriented but is also prone to finding fault and worries too much while Neptune in Pisces has a tendency to be reclusive and engage in escapist behaviors.  Under most circumstances, this aspect would be very challenging; hey, it’s an opposition, after all.  Jupiter in Virgo is also inclined to be judgmental and having the Sun in Virgo doesn’t help matters.  I have found myself to be very critical lately, both with myself and others. It may still be technically summer, but all of that carefree Leo energy feels like ancient history to me these days.

But the Jupiter Neptune opposition got a huge boost from the moon in Scorpio that day. That Scorpio moon sextiled Jupiter in Virgo and trined Neptune in Pisces in the wee hours of the morning.  On that day I tweeted:

“#Scorpiomoon saves the day’s Jupiter Neptune opposition by providing determination to achieve spiritual goals.  Love that sextile and trine!”

It literally served as a ballast for those two planets that were engaged in such a challenging aspect and may have served to mitigate any damage, especially in the workplace.

At 2:09 p.m. on the 17th, Mercury stationed retrograde in 15 degrees of Libra.  Many of us have been feeling the effects of Mercury retrograde already.  In the past week, I have endured printer problems and a frozen tablet.  And this was while Mercury was still in the shadow and hadn’t officially stationed retrograde!  All of the Mercury retrogrades in 2015 have been in air signs, and with this one in Libra, you can rest assured that relationships will be affected big-time with this Mercury retrograde. Be aware that relationships may need to be reevaluated at this time, but try to hold off on signing anything during the retrograde.

This Mercury retrograde is in my 12th house, but conjunct my Libra ascendant. Mercury retrograde always feels like a loss of control in matters pertaining to communication and transportation, but I am particularly leery of this one happening in my 12th house.  I also have the Sun in my 12th house until October 10th, so I am more anxious than usual. I hope everyone backed up their computers and we all will have to allot more time to reach our destinations between now and October 9th when Mercury stations direct at 0 degrees of Libra.

The third astrological hit of September 17th occurred at 10:49 p.m. when Saturn moved into Sagittarius, where it will stay through December 2017.  As a Scorpio, I was THRILLED at this occurrence.  Having Saturn back in Scorpio since June after that lovely little reprieve with Saturn’s first foray into Sagittarius before Christmas 2014 has not been the most fun time for me or anyone else with planets in late degrees of Scorpio, so this literally felt like a weight had been lifted.

Saturn in Sagittarius has a very different feel from Saturn in Scorpio, thank God. If you haven’t checked out Michael Lutin’s site recently, I strongly encourage you to do so at:

The following is an eloquent description of the Saturn in Scorpio experience:

Saturn in Scorpio teaches us
how to survive
what is impossible to survive,
after which
we end up one way or another
on the other side of life.
We learn how to heal ourselves
as it teaches us healing power
by revealing hidden metaphysical truths.
we need our courage to accept.
Everyone on Earth has been touched.
It's as if some creature
has come along
and slashed you
with a big knife,
and as it casually walks away,
it casually tosses over its shoulder,
"Grow up!"

Now that we have all survived the transformative energy of Saturn in Scorpio, we get a major dose of reality with Saturn in Sagittarius.  Sagittarius at its most enlightened is all about truth, honesty, our life’s work and our belief systems. Our work with Saturn in the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius involves finding practical applications for our beliefs and it can test our faith and moral sense.  Saturn is not all that comfortable in Sagittarius, which is ruled by Jupiter.  And we all know that Jupiter is prone to excesses, so with Saturn in Sagittarius our appetites may face a major reality check.

Venus is still in Leo until October 8th due to the retrograde. If you are curious as to how this extended Venus retrograde in Leo period affected you, please consider getting an astrological reading with me.  A little insight is always a powerful tool.  Just ask for the Venus Retrograde Special, which will be $25 through the month of September 2015. Eclipse Season is Here and the Game Changes

They’re BAACK—the eclipses, those game changers, are creating massive changes in the month of September that will keep us hopping. We will have a solar eclipse in 20 degrees of Virgo on September 13th and a lunar eclipse in 4 degrees of Aries on September 27th. The last set of eclipses occurred on March 20th and April 4th of this year.  Whatever story began back then will continue at a frenetic pace.  You may need a score card by the time this month is over.

Eclipses are very Uranian by nature because they have a tendency to bring sudden changes and unpredictable events.  The effects of a solar eclipse can be felt up to three months before and up to one year afterwards.  A lunar eclipse has a shorter shelf life because their effects are generally felt for up to six weeks before and after they occur.  Eclipses also have a way of distorting reality and things can get blown out of proportion.  Fair warning, OK?  Don’t shoot the messenger.

A solar eclipse is literally a new moon on steroids and can bring new beginnings.  The solar eclipse on September 13th involves many complicated aspects.  The Uranian quality of eclipses is amped up even more by the fact that the eclipse opposes Chiron in Pisces and inconjuncts Uranus in Aries.  Uranus is a major player in this eclipse, no doubt about it.  We are going to need lots of flexibility and adaptability to deal with whatever comes our way. Jupiter is also in Virgo and it opposes Neptune in Pisces, so reality blurred may be a strong theme.

The big story of this eclipse is that Chiron in Pisces inconjuncts both Mars and Venus in Leo which are sextiling Mercury in Libra.  This forms an interesting aspect called a Yod, which has often been referred to as the Finger of Fate because it is a very challenging aspect.  Yods have a very Uranian feeling, as they tend to create situations which come up out of the blue and make a person wonder “Why is this happening to me?”  Trust me, I know all about this one as I have a yod in my chart involving my north node in Capricorn that sextiles my Saturn in Scorpio and inconjuncts my moon in Gemini.  My moon is in the 8th house and a major theme in my life has been deaths in twos of family members in close proximity.

This solar eclipse is in the sign of Virgo, which is very health and service oriented.  Its opposition to Chiron in Pisces is bound to bring up themes of healing, forgiveness and the potential for falling into the victim role.  The most practical way to deal with this eclipse (Virgo is a practical earth sign, after all) is to focus on health, organizing and establishing new routines and schedules and trying to put relationships in order. Virgo is mutable earth, so we have a saving grace with that factor; it allows us more flexibility to roll with the punches.  Mercury is in Libra, but it is about to go retrograde on the 17th, which will definitely put the emphasis on reevaluating communication in relationships.   We have our work cut out for us!

Remember last week I commented that the solar eclipse in Virgo would be sextiling my Sun and Venus in Scorpio in my second house as well as my Cancer midheaven while Uranus in Aries would be squaring it?  And that Mars in Leo would be trining Uranus in Aries on September 8th?  I had absolutely no idea how the Mars Uranus trine would play out for me, but I sensed that the eclipse might bring some changes to my work life.  Well, on September 8th, I received news that a new more, lucrative time slot would be available at the clinic where I practice Reiki and I was able to obtain it.  Starting in October, I will be practicing Reiki on Fridays from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. instead of Thursday mornings.  I feel that this will be a boon for my business, as it is such a convenient time for people to receive Reiki after a stressful work week.  In addition to the Mars Uranus trine on September 8th, the Cancer moon was also trining Saturn in Scorpio.  I had been hoping for an early evening time slot and it suddenly opened up.  Thank you, Uranus and Mars!  I love it when astrology lives up to its potential!  I will be focusing on healing work and if you are in the Boston area and in need of some Reiki, please feel free to contact me for an appointment at the Acupuncture for Everyone clinic in Copley Square.

I will cover the September lunar eclipse in Aries in another post as we get closer to it.  Don’t forget that on September 17th Mercury stations retrograde in 15 degrees of Libra and Saturn moves into Sagittarius until December 2017.
