The season of
Capricorn is officially here. Saturn
entered Capricorn on December 19, 2017, inspiring me to tweet:
Saturn enters home sign of Capricorn tonight for the first time since 1988-1991. Major energy shift in terms of accepting responsibility in restructuring finances & government. #astrology— Linda Simons (@danceofphoenix) December 19, 2017
Saturn joined
Pluto in Capricorn, which has been with us since 2008 and the Sun entered
Capricorn on December 21, 2017 for the Winter Solstice. The sun also conjuncted the newly minted
Saturn in Capricorn on December 21. 2017.
The sun conjunct Saturn is a very serious aspect. Trust me on this one because I have the sun
conjunct Saturn natally in Scorpio. The
sun conjunct Saturn can feel restrictive and sometimes depressing because
Saturn has a way of restricting the life force of the sun. And this aspect did occur on the day when we
have the least amount of sunlight, literally the shortest day of the year. But
there is a perk to a Sun/Saturn conjunction: it can make you feel more focused
and self-disciplined so that you get back on track in terms of achieving your
goals and creating new enduring structures.
Yes, this aspect has a get down to work quality about it, but like all
things Saturn, it can reap great rewards if we buckle down and tend to
business.
Mercury is
stationing direct in 13 degrees of Sagittarius on December 22, 2017 at 8:51
p.m. on the east coast of the United States.
I can already hear the collective sighs of relief on this one. It has indeed been a particularly grueling
Mercury Retrograde and it is literally a cosmic gift for the holidays that
Mercury is finally starting to move forward.
Of course, there is still the matter of the Mercury Retrograde shadow
that doesn’t clear until late January 2018, but at least Mercury is starting to
move faster and we’ll take it. But with Mercury stationing direct, we are also
under the influence of a somewhat confusing, nebulous square to Neptune in 11
degrees of Pisces for the better part of a week. How is this aspect going to play out? Well, on its most evolved level, it can be a
highly spiritual and introspective time, which I think many people are already
experiencing after a turbulent 2017. But
Mercury squaring Neptune can also mean that imagination can cloud or create a
smokescreen regarding logical and rational thinking. Mercury and Neptune are both in mutable signs,
so there is even more of a propensity to literally be all over the place and
feeling like we are in a fog. But this aspect is over by the end of 2017, which
can help us more forward with more confidence in 2018. Mercury in Sagittarius is also forming a
favorable trine with the north node in 15 degrees of Leo, which is helping us
expand the possibilities for our future.
On a personal level, Mercury will be at the end of my second house and
the north node is at the end of my tenth house, so I am encouraged by that
aspect.
On December 25,
2017 (Christmas Day) Venus joins the Capricorn party when it too enters the
sign of Capricorn. It also conjuncts
Saturn in Capricorn, so don’t be surprised if there is a slightly Scrooge vibe
to the day. There may be a heavy
emphasis on responsibilities (a key word that describes Saturn) and past hurts
may flare up. On Christmas Day, then
moon starts off in Pisces and conjuncts Chiron in 24 degrees of Pisces, which
certainly supports that theory. But the
moon enters Aries at 7:27 p.m. on Christmas night, so we should be able to
recover from any emotional wounds by then and move on emotionally towards our
next adventure.
Venus will
remain in Capricorn until January 17, 2018.
What is Venus like in Capricorn?
Well, for starters, it’s not as fun-loving as Venus in Sagittarius. But it does encourage us to get serious about
finances and helps us approach relationships in a more mature manner. Venus in Capricorn gives off a vibe that love
must be earned and we are more willing to put in the hard work in relationships
to get our needs met. If we do this, we just might be pleasantly surprised at
the rewards we reap in those relationships.
Since Capricorn is a more reserved, conservative sign, we also might
ourselves adopting a more refined fashion or beauty style. Venus is also associated with beauty and the
arts, so when Venus transits Capricorn, it is an optimal time to get started on
artistic projects. Venus in Capricorn is
a worker bee, but that is not a bad thing.
Just be mindful that it has a completely different vibe than Venus in
Sagittarius.
I also want to
take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
If you are
curious as to how Saturn in Capricorn will be affecting you, please consider
getting an astrological reading. A
transit reading might be just what you need right now to make the most of
Jupiter in Scorpio. Jupiter transits are
all about taking advantage of opportunities and if you snooze you lose with
Jupiter. You have to be aware and strike
while the iron is hot. The Services Offered page of my site describes the menu
of services that I offer. There is something for everyone.
My site also
offers the opportunity to provide a donation in the amount of your choice to
demonstrate your support for my blog and daily astrological insights on Twitter

A
contribution in any amount is deeply appreciated as gratitude is a daily part
of my spiritual practice.
Recently I
undertook an intensive life purpose coaching training program and became
certified as a Life Purpose Coach. It
was an intense, eye-opening experience that changed my life as it caused me to
reflect on the story of my life. But I
left it with feelings of hope and light for the future that I want to share
with others. To that end, I am now
offering Life Purpose Coaching to my menu of services. You can read more about it at:
As an
astrologer, I have decided to include an interpretation of the north node by sign.
If you are feeling stuck and need some help in getting from Point A to Point B
in your quest for making positive changes in your life, please email me at lindasim54@gmail.com to schedule a complementary telephone
consultation to discover if you are a good fit for this program. I look forward to hearing from you.
If you are in
the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for
Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to
healing. It’s a perfect way to start
your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot! Reiki is the most profound treatment for
stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.
For
more information on my Reiki services, please see this page on my site:
For
my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have
difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions
for them. I have a conversation with
them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the
session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy
and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and
my perception of their blockages. I have
also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I
don’t always have a photo of my client.
I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where
it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email
at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205. I am also offering Reiki treatments in the Coolidge
Corner section of Brookline on Sunday afternoons.
But
the big news is that I have created and launched a new website devoted exclusively
to my Reiki practice. Please feel free to check it out at:
I
was also featured in the July 3rd edition of Boston Voyager, an online
publication that runs a section called Inspiring Stories about local
entrepreneurs on its home page. The
Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so
my story certainly debuted under fitting aspects. Please feel free to check it out:
With
the holiday season in full swing, you might want to consider purchasing an
astrological or tarot reading as a special gift for your loved ones. I am also offering
four options for package deals: Silver, Gold, Platinum and a Tarot special for
my tarot clients. Please check it out at:
