We are coming
off a pretty potent full moon earlier in the week which I tweeted about on May
29, 2018:

But on June 5,
2018, we have two aspects that are incredibly powerful and pretty much set the
tone for the day, despite the fact that they both occur after 10:00 p.m. The sun and Mercury are conjunct in 14
degrees of Gemini at 10:02 p.m. and Venus in 20 degrees of Cancer opposes retrograde
Pluto in 20 degrees of Capricorn. Trust
me on this one, these aspects are bound to affect relationships.
When the sun is
conjunct Mercury in its home sign of Gemini, communications are heavily
emphasized and it is a theme du jour. It
will be a busy time mentally as many of us will literally be living in our
minds. It is very creative energy and
can be a time of impressive mental achievement.
But it also holds the potential for extremely effective communication
when we have the power to influence people with our speech and written
words. In short, it can be an opportune
time for making plans and business deals.
This aspect can impact both personal and business relationships. I am especially under the influence of this
aspect as it exactly conjuncts my Gemini moon in the 8th house. I certainly hope that it has beneficial
effects on communication in both my personal and professional
relationships. It will be very
interesting to see how it plays out with my business and if I see an increase
in my astrology and psychic readings.
With both the sun and Mercury conjunct my moon in the 8th house,
I should be at the top of my intuitive game.
At 10:25 p.m.
Venus in 20 degrees of Cancer forms a challenging opposition to retrograde
Pluto in 20 degrees of Capricorn. This is
literally a tug of war between opposing forces.
This aspect will place intense pressure on relationships as powerful
emotions that have may have been dormant for a while resurface. Obsession and compulsion are words that come
to mind with a challenging Venus Pluto aspect.
Once again, I am no stranger to this kind of energy as I have a Venus
Pluto square in my natal chart with Venus retrograde. This energy represents transformation
through relationships.
Don’t be
surprised if seemingly out of nowhere, you or your partner exhibit feelings of suspicion,
paranoia, jealousy or possessiveness.
There could also be a lot of drama going down featuring manipulation,
control issues and power plays. If you are unattached, this aspect could
manifest in obsessive and compulsive attractions. Power imbalances and domination will be in
the spotlight. While Venus represents our
love relationships, finances and values, Pluto represents power and
transformation. The caveat with Pluto
is that in order for transformation to occur, there usually needs to be some
level of destruction for the rebirth to occur.
And as I am fond of saying from personal experience, “Rebirth
ain’t pretty.” This is very
Scorpionic energy, if I do say so myself.
Venus will be transiting my 10th opposing Pluto in my 4th
house, so I have no doubt that this aspect will not go unnoticed in my life either.
I don’t know
about anyone else, but Venus in Cancer has been inspiring me to reflect a great
deal on the past and history in general. It tends to have a very nostalgic
influence. When I started writing this blog about the aspects on June 5th,
I realized that June 5th is the 50th anniversary of the
shooting of Senator Robert F. Kennedy in 1968.
He died on June 6, 1968. I
realize that many of my readers were not alive on that day and I am certainly
dating myself when I say that I remember that time well. I looked at an ephemeris to see if these
aspects occurred back then, and they didn’t.
But one thing was the same-Chiron was in 2 degrees of Aries back in
early June of 1968, just like it will be on June 5, 2018. What can I say but the times are still
changing? In many ways, this time
reminds me of the changes that occurred in the 1960’s when I was growing
up. From 2012 through 2015, we
experienced seven exact squares between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn.
Uranus and Pluto were both in Virgo from
1963 through 1968 and the peak of their conjunction occurred between
1965-1966. We are still under the
influence of a revolutionary period in our history which may very well
culminate in the Saturn Pluto conjunction in 22 degrees of Capricorn on January
12, 2020. Of course, it is no
coincidence that we will be gearing up for another presidential election in the
United States in 2020. Pardon the
musings and chalk them up to Venus in Cancer.
