Eclipse season is officially here and it arrived with quite
a bang on July 2, 2019 with a total solar eclipse in 10 degrees of Cancer. On that day I tweeted:

We are in the time period between eclipses; the next
eclipse will be a lunar eclipse on July 16, 2019 with the moon in 24 degrees of
Capricorn. But the week between eclipses
will be anything but calm; it will be downright turbulent. For starters, Mercury is stationing
retrograde on July 7, 2019 in 4 degrees of Leo and will remain retrograde until
July 31, 2019 when it stations direct in 24 degrees of Cancer. Mercury retrograde is notorious for its
communication and transportation snafus and delays, but it brings more
intensity to the mix this time because Mercury in Leo will be conjunct Mars in
Leo on July 8, 2019 and will also square Uranus in Taurus. This can result in temper tantrums,
arguments, and impulsive, disruptive and provocative behavior. Mercury in Leo has no problems expressing its
anger, but retrograde Mercury will move back into Cancer on July 19, 2019 and
this can bring a resurgence of passive aggressive behavior. The best way to deal with this is to be
mindful of which house in your chart Mercury retrograde will be affecting. For me, it will be in my 10th
house of career, and I am already starting to experience cancellations and
reschedulings of appointments with my clients.
On July 8, 2019, Chiron, the Wounded Healer, stations
retrograde in 5 degrees of Aries and remains retrograde until December 12, 2019
when it stations direct in 1 degree of Aries.
Chiron retrograde represents an opportunity to heal old wounds, but the sticking
point is that we have to face the pain and look inside ourselves for the
answers. We may literally feel that
something is wrong with us during this transit.
Chiron in Aries indicates that the wounding and healing process is
focused on the issues of independence, autonomy and personal freedoms. And we may need to accept new limitations to
our freedom during Chiron retrograde.
The fun continues on July 9, 2019 when the Sun in Cancer
opposes Saturn in Capricorn in 17 degrees of their respective signs. Ouch!
As someone who has a challenging Sun Saturn aspect natally, I can relate
to this aspect all too well. The themes of this aspect involve facing limiting
conditions in life due to the actions of others or circumstances beyond our
control. It can lead to conflicts with
authority figures. The Sun opposing
Saturn can also block self-expression, lead to feelings of rejection or isolation
and in general is accompanied by low energy and frustration. The best way to
deal with Saturnian energy is to be patient, something which is easier said
than done.
We get an astrological mini-reprieve on July 10th,
but on July 11, 2019, Mars in Leo will be squaring Uranus in Taurus in 6
degrees of their respective signs. This aspect
occurs in fixed signs, so it will definitely be challenging because fixed signs
are the most resistant to change. Mars squaring Uranus delivers a strong urge
to break free and rebels against authority.
We may find ourselves acting rashly without regard for the consequences
if we are not mindful. Our actions or
the actions of others can take us by surprise.
Uranus is a wild card energy that loves to shock and disrupt, so don’t expect
it to be a quiet day. But the saving
grace of this aspect is that it can bring creative breakthroughs. This is supported by the fact that both the sun
in Cancer and the moon in Scorpio are trining Neptune in Pisces that day. So we have a highly emotional Grand Water
Trine in play that day.
