The summer eclipse season is nearly here! We have two eclipses in July 2019 and two new
moons during the month, the first one being a total solar eclipse in 10 degrees
of Cancer on July 2, 2019 and the second new moon occurring on July 31, 2019 in
8 degrees of Leo when Mercury stations direct in 24 degrees of Cancer. The second eclipse of July occurs on July 16,
2019 in 24 degrees of Capricorn, a lunar eclipse. More on that in a later post.
Eclipses are game changers that can act as wild cards
because the unexpected can occur, especially if an eclipse aspects planets in
your chart. I always tell my clients
that solar eclipses are like new moons on steroids, and their effects can be
felt for up to three months before they occur and as long as one year
afterwards. If this solar eclipse is
aspecting your sun, especially by conjunction, you will be facing a year of big
changes ahead.
This solar eclipse is a north node eclipse, which tends to
make it a lot easier to implement change than a south node eclipse, when you
feel like you are at the mercy of fated events.
A north node eclipse tends to give you more control over the direction
of your life. The north node of the moon
is currently in Cancer, which is associated with home, family and your
emotional sense of security. This eclipse will definitely make it impossible
for you to ignore your emotions if you have been feeling blocked because it
occurs in the moon’s home sign of Cancer. For me personally, this eclipse is conjunct my
south node in Cancer in my 9th house, and I am actually looking
forward to it helping me release some long overdue emotional baggage.
What else is going on astrologically on July 2, 2019? For starters, we have four planets
retrograde: Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in
Sagittarius. And Mercury is getting to
ready to join the retrograde party on July 7, 2019. All of these retrograde planets are bound to
usher in a period of reevaluation before any real progress can occur. Retrograde
Saturn in Capricorn is conjunct the south node in Capricorn, which is all about
finances and practical security. Saturn conjunct the south node can trigger
control issues, delays and karma that needs to be released. It is truly a time of letting go of the old
and surrendering to the new. Saturn will
be conjunct the south node in Capricorn until October 2019, so this is an
ongoing process.
Mars enters the sign of Leo on July 1, 2019 where it
resides until August 18, 2019. It joins Mercury which entered Leo on June 26,
2019 which inspired me to tweet:
Since I love to talk astrology and believe in making it

Happy 4th of July!
Mars in Leo will feature prominently in the solar eclipse on July 2, 2019. Mars in Leo is a time of high spirits, pride and self-confidence. We are filled with courage and enthusiasm. But we need to be mindful of the shadow side of Mars in Leo: letting our ego get the best of us and causing unnecessary drama. This will be tested on the day of the eclipse when Mars in Leo conjuncts Mercury in Leo: there may be episodes of overconfident behavior, leaders lording it over the people and it can bring matters of the heart to a heated focus. Mars in Leo is also forming a tense square to Uranus in Taurus, which can lead to earthquakes or volcanoes or political upheavals because it is very impulsive energy. But the silver lining of this eclipse is that it forms a sextile to Uranus in Taurus, which supports change. That is pretty sweet with both the sun and moon sextiling Uranus, so positive change is definitely an option.Mercury enters Leo today for an extended stay due to the upcoming retrograde. Expect communications to become more dramatic and passionate. #astrology— Linda Simons (@danceofphoenix) June 26, 2019
On the following day, July 3, 2019, Venus enters Cancer
until July 27, 2019. Venus in Cancer
brings out the nurturing and nesting qualities in us. It is very protective of those it loves and
is also very self-protective. The
transit of Venus in Cancer can be a time of emotional ups and downs due to
increased sensitivity and impressionability. The themes of devotion, concern
and emotional security are front and center.
Venus in Cancer is also an opportunity to engage in more self-care and
spend more time with family. The shadow
side of Venus in Cancer is its tendency to be irrational, moody, easily
triggered and take everything too personally.
This can lead to emotional withdrawal if one is feeling threatened. Don’t forget that the symbol of Cancer is the
crab and its shell is very self-protective.
If you are curious as to how all of these planetary changes
will be affecting you, please consider getting an astrological reading. I am now offering short telephone astrology

I have been doing more work with tarot readings, which I
love, so I decided to create a new combination reading which offers the option
of a 30 minute astrology consultation with a one question tarot reading for
only $50. There is something for everyone and my menu of services can
accommodate any budget.
This might be the perfect way for you to get a taste of
what astrology can do for you in terms of providing insight into your life

A

of my spiritual practice.
Recently I undertook an intensive life purpose coaching
training program and became certified as a Life Purpose Coach. It was an intense, eye-opening experience
that changed my life as it caused me to reflect on the story of my life. But I left it with feelings of hope and light
for the future that I want to share with others. To that end, I am now offering Life Purpose
Coaching to my menu of services. You can
read more about it at:
As an astrologer, I have decided to include an interpretation
of the north node by sign. If you are feeling stuck and need some help in
getting from Point A to Point B in your quest for making positive changes in
your life, please email me at lindasim54@gmail.com
to schedule a complementary telephone consultation to discover if you are a
good fit for this program. I look
forward to hearing from you.
I am also available for tarot readings in person if you are
in the Boston area or by telephone if you are unable to travel to my home in
Newton, MA. I use the Celestial Tarot
Deck, which I love because it contains so many astrological symbols. A tarot reading is another great option for
obtaining insight and clarity.
If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a
Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress,
revitalize and remove blockages to healing.
It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off and can also be described
as a spa for the soul to boot! Reiki is
the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on
CALMING your body.
For
more information on my Reiki services, please see this page on my site:
For
my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have
difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions
for them. I have a conversation with
them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the
session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy
and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and
my perception of their blockages. I have
also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I
don’t always have a photo of my client.
I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where
it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email
at lindasim54@gmail.com or
call me at 617-304-2205. I am also
offering Reiki treatments at my home in Newton, MA on Wednesday and Thursday
afternoons and in the Coolidge Corner section of Brookline on Sunday
afternoons. Recently I have added online
booking for my Sunday clients on my site.

I
was also featured in the July 3, 2017 edition of Boston Voyager, an online
publication that runs a section called Inspiring Stories about local
entrepreneurs on its home page. The
Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so
my story certainly debuted under fitting aspects. Please feel free to check it out:
