A New Moon in Taurus and Uranus Entering Taurus Amplify the Taurus Energy

Save the day of May 15, 2018 because there are big changes afoot astrologically that day.  We have a new moon in 24 degrees of Taurus at 7:48 a.m. and at 11:16 a.m. Uranus enters the sign of Taurus briefly until November 6, 2018.  The new moon in Taurus contains strong themes of being centered and grounded as we tap into our resources (Taurus is a money sign, after all, ruled by Venus) of strength and self-worth. It is also forming a favorable trine to Mars in Capricorn before Mars leaves Capricorn on May 16th for an extended stay in the sign of Aquarius due to an upcoming Mars retrograde on June 26, 2018.  Mars will re-enter Capricorn on August 12, 2018, station direct in 28 degrees of Capricorn on August 28, 2018 and re-enter Aquarius on September 10, 2018 and remain in Aquarius through November 15, 2018.  The last time Mars entered the sign of Aquarius was on November 8, 2016, which was the date of the Presidential election in the United States.  A new moon in Taurus trining Mars in Capricorn will allow us to act favorably in terms of implementing new beginnings in the areas of material concerns, whether they be environmental or financial. Opportunities abound on that day to plant the seeds for new endeavors, either literally or figuratively.

The new moon in 24 degrees of Taurus also forms a favorable trine with Pluto in 21 degrees of Capricorn.  This aspect can cause us to have intense and deep experiences that ultimately result in positive transformation.  Don’t be afraid of this energy.  Another aspect that affects this new moon is the trine between Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces.  Although it is not exact until May 25, 2018, many of us have been feeling its effects since the beginning of May.  This positive, flowing aspect will encourage hope, generosity and compassion.  It will foster themes of social justice and selflessly helping others.

I know that I described Taurus as a money sign and for me personally, it falls in my 8th house of joint resources (aka other people’s money) and directly opposes my Venus in Scorpio in my 2nd house of personal finances and values.  This should definitely be interesting…

Uranus will enter Taurus for the first time in 84 years, due to its long cycle of spending approximately 7 years in a sign.  Uranus last entered Taurus in June of 1934, when the world was dealing with the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, fascism, the rise of dictators and the emergence of World War II.  Uranus briefly re-entered Aries in October 1934 but returned to the sign of Taurus to stay until May 1942.

I believe that we have some interesting parallels between now and that last transit of Uranus in Taurus.  Uranus will station retrograde in 2 degrees of Taurus on August 7, 2018 and will re-enter Aries on November 6, 2018.  Ironically, this is Election Day in the United States. Granted, it is mid-term elections, but we could see a shake-up on some levels in our government on that day. Uranus will re-enter Taurus for seven years on March 6, 2019.  So Uranus will remain in Taurus until April 2026.

When Uranus re-enters Aries, we will have the opportunity to revisit themes from its transit in the sign of Aries, which initially began in March 2010 and then again from March 2011 to 2018.  For many people (myself included), Uranus in Aries was all about reclaiming personal power.  Hopefully we will all get some closure on our power issues during the last hit of Uranus in Aries from November 2018 through early March 2019.

Uranus in Taurus will have themes of security and stability, which is not exactly compatible with the Uranus desire for change, growth and awakening. There can definitely be a real push pull experience with Uranus in Taurus. Uranus is known as the Great Awakener, after all. Whatever you thought was secure and stable (Taurus) will come up for review as you are called to let go of your security blanket and take more risks.  It will be a time to move out of our comfort zone.

On a global level, Uranus in Taurus can force us to pay attention to how we treat the earth.  I don’t want to be a doomsayer, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more earthquakes and natural disasters when Uranus is in Taurus.  But we could also see more revolutions in the tech industry and in medical research.

Since Taurus is a money sign, we could see new forms of currency arriving too. There could be changes in banking, housing and the stock market.  When Uranus was in Taurus back in 1935, Jupiter was also in Scorpio, where it is right now.  In 1935 the Banking Act was passed and Social Security was implemented. We also had rationing during World War II during the last reign of Uranus in Taurus.

I am by no means predicting another World War, but I think that we can all see some very interesting parallels between now and the last transit of Taurus from 1934 through 1942.  The changes in our values, security and sense of stability are coming.  Hopefully we will learn from the mistakes of the past and be inspired by the positive changes that the last transit of Uranus in Taurus delivered.

If you are curious as to how all of the planetary changes, including eclipses, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn retrograde, Jupiter in Scorpio, Chiron in Aries and Uranus in Taurus will be affecting you in 2018, please consider getting an astrological reading.  A transit reading might be just what you need right now to make the most of Jupiter in Scorpio.  Jupiter transits are all about taking advantage of opportunities and if you snooze you lose with Jupiter.  You have to be aware and strike while the iron is hot. The Services Offered page of my site describes the menu of services that I offer. There is something for everyone.

My site also offers the opportunity to provide a donation in the amount of your choice to demonstrate your support for my blog and daily astrological insights on Twitter at:

A contribution in any amount is deeply appreciated as gratitude is a daily part of my spiritual practice.

Recently I undertook an intensive life purpose coaching training program and became certified as a Life Purpose Coach.  It was an intense, eye-opening experience that changed my life as it caused me to reflect on the story of my life.  But I left it with feelings of hope and light for the future that I want to share with others.  To that end, I am now offering Life Purpose Coaching to my menu of services.  You can read more about it at:

As an astrologer, I have decided to include an interpretation of the north node by sign. If you are feeling stuck and need some help in getting from Point A to Point B in your quest for making positive changes in your life, please email me at lindasim54@gmail.com to schedule a complementary telephone consultation to discover if you are a good fit for this program.  I look forward to hearing from you.

If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to healing.  It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot!   Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.

For more information on my Reiki services, please see this page on my site:

For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.  I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages.  I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205.  I am also offering Reiki treatments in the Coolidge Corner section of Brookline on Sunday afternoons.

But the big news is that I have created and launched a new website devoted exclusively to my Reiki practice. Please feel free to check it out at:

I was also featured in the July 3, 2017 edition of Boston Voyager, an online publication that runs a section called Inspiring Stories about local entrepreneurs on its home page.  The Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so my story certainly debuted under fitting aspects.  Please feel free to check it out:

I have also revised my package deals and I am now offering two options for package deals: Silver and a Tarot special for my tarot clients. Please check it out at:

Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter for my daily astrological insights.

Happy Mother’s Day and if you need a special gift for mom, please consider purchasing a Reiki treatment for her if you live in the Boston area.  A Reiki Mother’s Day Gift Certificate is good at either my Boston or Brookline location and it doesn’t expire. Learn more about it at:
