This is an
uncomfortable, difficult and challenging time for many people these days. Last week we saw Mercury station retrograde and
a powerful lunar eclipse in Aquarius on July 27, 2018. And this is also the
time between eclipses, which is always awkward and tense. The next and final eclipse of 2018 will occur
on August 11, 2018 in 18 degrees of Leo.
I think that the general consensus is that most people or at least
empaths, feel that the week between eclipses is like waiting for the other shoe
to drop in terms of trying to be prepared for whatever unexpected events the
universe hurls at us. On some level, we know
that deep change is coming but there is a natural fear of the unknown
accompanied by anxiety. Intellectually
we realize that change needs to happen but emotionally we fear it. Both personally and collectively, I sense
that this summer has been all about reflecting on the past, purging and
releasing what no longer serves us. The fifth
and final eclipse of 2018 (and it is indeed rare to have five instead of four
eclipses in one year) will hopefully serve as a catalyst to closing the door on
the past and propelling us on a new path.
Mars retrograde
has been a heavy hitter ever since it stationed retrograde on June 26,
2018. It was very active in the lunar
eclipse of July 27th and on August 1, 2018, it formed the second of
three exact squares with Uranus in Taurus, inspiring me to tweet:
But we have a couple more major astrological events coming up before the next eclipse, which I promise to cover in more detail in next week’s post. On August 6, 2018, Venus enters its ruling sign of Libra (actually Venus rules both Taurus and Libra) where it will be eminently more comfortable and right at home. Venus thrives in the sign of Libra due to its natural affinity for beauty, luxury and pleasure. Venus in Libra craves harmony, is open to compromise and is renowned for seeking balance. Venus is not just about love and relationships, it also pertains to money and values. So charm, diplomacy and tact will be key features of this Venus in Libra transit. But the flip side of the Venus in Libra transit is the tendency to engage in indecisiveness, dependency and superficiality. We could be facing a day of personal conflict today with Mars in Aquarius squaring Uranus in Taurus. This is the 2nd of 3 Mars/Uranus squares this year and may be the toughest. #astrology— Linda Simons (@danceofphoenix) August 1, 2018
Venus begins
its transit of Libra in my 12th house and enters my first house on
August 24, 2018. After conjuncting my
ascendant, it will also conjunct my Juno and Neptune in Libra, which should be
pretty sweet transits. But Venus leaves
Libra on September 9, 2018, so make the most of this Venus in Libra
transit. Venus will enter Scorpio on
that day, but will station retrograde in 10 degrees of Scorpio on October 5,
2018 and will remain in Scorpio until January 8, 2019.
Uranus in
Taurus has been slowing down and will station retrograde in 2 degrees of Taurus
on August 7, 2018. It will slip back
into the sign of Aries on November 7, 2018 and will end its retrograde in 28
degrees of Aries on January 6, 2019.
Uranus will re-enter Taurus on March 8, 2019 for the next seven years.
Uranus
retrograde is found of 40% of all charts, so it is not as uncommon as Mars
retrograde, which occurs every two years.
When Uranus is retrograde it is more difficult to restrain the erratic
and impulsive urges of Uranus. Uranus
retrograde also has the tendency to internalize the disruptive nature of
Uranus, which can result in nervous anxiety, rapid personality changes or just
plain neurotic behavior. It represents a
time of inner change in response to external changes in life and it helps us
process things internally before we manifest the external changes that will allow
us more freedom (which is what Uranus craves, after all) when Uranus stations
direct.
Uranus
retrograde is a good time to go within to seek patterns that need to be
released. This seems to be a recurring astrological
theme this year. But it is very
complicated with the ongoing Mars/Uranus square, which will be exact for the
third and final hit on September 18, 2018 in 1 degree of Mars in Aquarius and 1
degree of Uranus in Taurus. Mars
squaring Uranus is indeed a test of patience and many of us may find ourselves
needing a creative outlet for all of that frustrating energy. This aspect tends to trigger our anger and
frustration, ramping up our impatience. Uranus in Taurus rules nature, so I am
not surprised to hear the news about fires, earthquakes, volcanoes and other
natural disasters occurring. Uranus in
Taurus is literally shaking up our planet.
I am one of
those 40% who have Uranus retrograde natally in my chart and usually its
retrograde period doesn’t bother me too much because I am fairly comfortable
with it due to my own retrograde Uranus. But this year I am a little more concerned
about the effects of its transit. When Uranus
re-enters Aries in November, it will form some pretty challenging aspects to my
natal chart. It will square my Jupiter
and retrograde Uranus in Cancer in my 10th house and will oppose my
Neptune in Libra in my 1st house.
This time around it will be getting really personal and could have some
far-reaching implications for major changes in my life.
If you are
curious as to how all of the planetary changes, including this summer’s eclipses,
Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn retrograde, Mars retrograde in Aquarius, Jupiter
in Scorpio, Chiron in Aries and Uranus in Taurus will be affecting you in 2018,
please consider getting an astrological reading. A transit reading might be just what you need
right now to make the most of Jupiter in Scorpio. Jupiter transits are all about taking
advantage of opportunities and if you snooze you lose with Jupiter. You have to be aware and strike while the
iron is hot. The Services Offered page of my site describes the menu of
services that I offer. There is something for everyone.
My site also
offers the opportunity to provide a donation in the amount of your choice to

A contribution in any amount is deeply
appreciated as gratitude is a daily part of my spiritual practice.
I am also offering my Mars Retrograde Special
reading which is another tool for dealing with the frustrations of the Mars
retrograde transit, which began on June 26, 2018.

Recently I
undertook an intensive life purpose coaching training program and became
certified as a Life Purpose Coach. It
was an intense, eye-opening experience that changed my life as it caused me to
reflect on the story of my life. But I
left it with feelings of hope and light for the future that I want to share
with others. To that end, I am now
offering Life Purpose Coaching to my menu of services. You can read more about it at:
As an
astrologer, I have decided to include an interpretation of the north node by sign.
If you are feeling stuck and need some help in getting from Point A to Point B
in your quest for making positive changes in your life, please email me at lindasim54@gmail.com to schedule a complementary telephone
consultation to discover if you are a good fit for this program. I look forward to hearing from you.
If you are in
the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for
Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to
healing. It’s a perfect way to start
your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot! Reiki is the most profound treatment for
stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.
For more information on my Reiki services,
please see this page on my site:
For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their
schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently
begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.
I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a
session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a
state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation
to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I have also incorporated a new technique with
my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my
client. I use a teddy bear so that I can
scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If this appeals to you,
please feel free to contact me by email at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at
617-304-2205. I am also offering Reiki
treatments in the Coolidge Corner section of Brookline on Sunday afternoons.
But the big news is that I have created and
launched a new website devoted exclusively to my Reiki practice. Please feel
free to check it out at:
I was also featured in the July 3, 2017 edition
of Boston Voyager, an online publication that runs a section called Inspiring
Stories about local entrepreneurs on its home page. The Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun
and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so my story certainly debuted under fitting
aspects. Please feel free to check it
out:
I have also revised my package deals and I am now
offering two options for package deals: Silver and a Tarot special for my tarot
clients. Please check it out at:
