The First Super Full Moon of 2021 is in Relationship-Oriented Libra

 

The first Super Full Moon of 2021 is about to happen on March 28, 2021 in 8 degrees of Libra.  It is larger and closer to earth than most full moons, it can be perceived as being more beautiful because of its visibility and this one will pack a double whammy on love and relationships because it occurs in the relationship-oriented sign of Libra.

We know the drill that emotions run high around a Full Moon.  This one is no exception due to the fact that Chiron in Aries is prominently aspected.  It is conjunct both the Sun and Venus in Aries, which will serve as a reminder of the painful parts of love. And the Full Moon in Libra opposes Chiron and Venus in Aries. But Chiron’s presence also lends a healing vibe to this Full Moon. The past week has been very emotional, especially with two mass shootings occurring in the United States: in Georgia on March 16 and Colorado on March 22.  The Moon in Libra seeks justice and the south node of the Moon is in Sagittarius, which pertains to legal issues.  Is it possible for us to have some closure or resolution (major Full Moon themes) on gun control?

I am not exaggerating when I say this Full Moon could have some major resolution issues.  Think back to October 16, 2020 when we had a New Moon in 23 degrees of Libra.  Since New Moons represent beginnings, what seeds for a fresh start were you planting then?  You just might be reaping the benefits of those endeavors now.  If you have any planets in the early degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn expect to be impacted heavily by this Full Moon.

This Full Moon in Libra falls in my 12^th house of karma, and is conjunct my Libra ascendant.  And it squares my nodes in the cardinal signs of Cancer and Capricorn. As if that weren’t enough emotional intensity, the north node of the Moon is also conjunct my Gemini Moon in my 8^th house. So I am highly attuned to this energy and am feeling my psychic and empathic oats.  If you are an Aries, you will feel the effects of this Full Moon in your relationships.  Libras will be very emotional and not averse to hiding their feelings, while Cancers and Capricorns will be striving to find a work/life balance. And we can’t rule out more unpredictable events occurring due to the fact that the Full Moon is inconjunct Uranus in 8 degrees of Taurus.

Contentious communications are likely during this Full Moon because we also had Mercury in Pisces squaring Mars in Gemini on March 23.  On that day I tweeted:

But as challenging as all of this sounds, we do have some hope emerging from this Full Moon.  There is a Grand Trine in Air present involving the Moon in 8 degrees of Libra, Saturn in 11 degrees of aquarius and mars in 14 degrees of Gemini. In keeping with one of the other themes of a Full Moon, a lot of information will be revealed around this time.  And having Saturn involved in the mix is a good thing; it will help provide the willingness to work on healing the pain in relationships by working with the Moon and Mars in Aquarius.  It’s literally the power of three with emotion, structure and action.  I know that I have my own set of personal challenges with this Full Moon, but a part of me is stoked because I have a Grand Air Trine in my natal chart and while I don’t look forward to having Saturn conjunct my natal Mars, I am curious as to how having Mars in Gemini conjunct my natal Moon will manifest.

The coronavirus outbreak is causing me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people are concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. When it becomes clearer that the virus no longer poses a threat, I will find a new space to practice. In the meantime, a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. The Sun and Venus Enter Aries While Mercury in Pisces Gets Busy

 

Relief is on the way for those of us who have been emotionally drowning in Pisces energy. The recent New Moon, Sun and Venus in Pisces, coupled with the one year anniversary of the pandemic on March 11, have taken a huge toll emotionally on many people.  I have been crying a lot more and I have heard similar tales from friends and clients.  I swear that Kleenex will be to 2021 what toilet paper was to 2020 – an item that is in big demand and hard to find.

Aries season is about to kick off.  The Sun enters the cardinal fire sign of Aries on March 20 as spring and International Astrology Day are officially launched.  The Sun is exalted in Aries and we could certainly use a shot of fire energy after all of this Pisces pileup which is highly emotional.  When the Sun is in Aries, we are more enthusiastic, spontaneous, impulsive and have the urge to initiate.  We tend to be very direct and focused on ourselves.  There is a very pioneering spirit present and independence is quite important to us.  It’s a time of letting go of the past and living in the moment.  Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and symbolizes new beginnings. After the past year, we could all benefit from this shot of adrenaline energy.  Aries is ruled by Mars, don’t forget. 

On March 21 Venus leaves Pisces and moves into Aries, where it stays until April 14.  When Venus is in Aries, love is spontaneous and sometimes impatient.  We are more into the love of the chase during this transit.  It’s time for a fresh start in love and money.  Feel free to go after what you want at this time.

But while the Sun and Venus are out of Pisces, we still have Mercury in Pisces.  And it is quite busy.  Mercury finally cleared its retrograde shadow in Aquarius on March 13, but it entered Pisces on March 15, inspiring me to tweet:

Mercury in Pisces has many of us questioning if Mercury is still retrograde.  It has a really spacy quality.  I have been on the receiving end of mix-ups and delays in communications.  I have heard it from clients too.  On March 17, I experienced two short-term power outages.  The second one occurred when I was preparing dinner, which delayed it by thirty minutes.

On March 21, Mercury in Pisces will be forming a supportive sextile to Uranus in 8 degrees of Taurus.  This should give us some visionary energy opening us up to new and different ideas and ways of doing things.  Bring it on!  But on March 23, Mercury in Pisces is living up to its Trickster image by squaring Saturn in 10 degrees of Aquarius.  This aspect has a theme of plotting, scheming and deception with an aura of negative thinking thrown in for good measure.  It doesn’t help that the Moon in Leo is involved in a T-square with Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus.  Try to remember that is a temporary influence and things are not as dire as they seem, but be mindful that March 23 could be a tense day.

A New Moon in Pisces Paves the Way for a Pisces State of Mind

 

We are thickly entrenched in Pisces season these days.  The Sun has been in Pisces since February 18 and Venus joined the Sun on February 25. Neptune remains in Pisces until 2025.  On March 10, the Sun and Neptune hooked up in Pisces, inspiring me to tweet:

The annual Sun-Neptune conjunction occurs today in 20 degrees of Pisces. We will be more intuitive, spiritual, empathetic and creative. But we also need to be aware of those trying to take advantage of us because that is Neptune’s shadow side. #astrology

But there is more to come in terms of that Piscean dreamy vibe.  We have a New Moon in 23 degrees of Pisces on March 13.  Traditionally New Moons are all about setting intentions and planting seeds for our dreams and this one has some potent energy for turning our dreams into a reality.  It is conjunct Venus and Neptune in 20 degrees of Pisces.  Neptune is the ruler of Pisces, which elevates this New Moon to eclipse status in terms of it being like a New Moon on steroids.  Neptune can serve as a muse and inspire us to be more selfless, compassionate and empathetic.  The New Moon in Pisces is also getting a boost with a sextile from Pluto in 26 degrees of Capricorn; this will add a tone of spiritual renewal to the mix.  Neptune definitely has its shadow side, which includes chaos, confusion, deception, loss and sacrifice.  COVID-19 is a perfect example of Neptune at its worst, so don’t be surprised if you hear some negative news about the vaccine or mutations.

But the perk of having this New Moon in Pisces is that if we need trust our intuition for making decisions, we will be richly rewarded.  This is one of those times that we need to pay close attention to and heed our gut instincts with all of this water energy. And don’t forget your dreams because they will probably be more active around this time as they can be a rich source of information for us.  Mars in Gemini is also trining Saturn in Aquarius on the New Moon, which is an extremely favorable influence for making choices about new paths to embark on.  Mars in Gemini presents us with at least two choices, but its trine to Saturn in the fixed sign of Aquarius is a green light for acting on something that will go the distance and create some stability for the future.  Technology could feature prominently in these decisions.

On March 15 Mercury sails into Pisces after having spent what seemed like an eternity in the sign of Aquarius due to the Mercury retrograde that occurred from January 30 to February 20. Mercury actually cleared its retrograde shadow on the New Moon, so we are all set. Mercury will be in Pisces until April 3.  Mercury in Pisces will mark a big change in communication.  Mercury in Aquarius was all about detached thinking, but Mercury in Pisces features thinking on an intuitive and emotional level.  Communication is more about the feels and less about the words.  We will be very creative, but a lot less detail-oriented, so we might forget certain appointments.  Don’t be surprised if you find it harder to distinguish fact from fantasy and start embracing escapism and denial.  Fogginess in communication could prevail; the mental clarity of Mercury in Aquarius is no longer with us.  It’s like we are walking on the beach on an overcast day.

A Busy Moon and a Mystical Sun-Neptune Conjunction

 

After a hectic first two months of 2021, we were bound to get a breather. This could very well be the March that comes in like a lamb and goes out like a lion.  I kid you not, this is a relatively quiet week astrologically where the main action is coming from the Moon and the annual Sun-Neptune conjunction in Pisces.

The Moon exited the month of February with a Full Moon in Virgo on the 27^th and on the 28^th it formed a Grand Earth Trine, which inspired me to tweet:

The Moon has spent the past week in Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius but on March 6, it returns to an earth sign-Capricorn.  It’s about to get very busy in Capricorn.  On the 7^th, the Capricorn Moon is inconjunct Mars in 2 degrees of Gemini.  This is going to be a very touchy and hyper-emotional period accompanied by anger and manipulation.  The best coping strategy for dealing with this aspect is to curb your emotions.  That Moon in Capricorn is also squaring Chiron in 7 degrees of Aries on the same day, which will undoubtedly trigger some trauma and emotional wounding as hurt feelings and painful emotions surface.  Don’t forget that Pluto is still in the sign of Capricorn.

On March 9 the Moon enters Aquarius, where Jupiter and Saturn are holding court.  The Aquarius Moon will square off with Uranus in 7 degrees of Taurus.  This is significant because Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius and the effects are exacerbated.  Be prepared for rapid mood swings and impulsive reactions.  Emotional outbursts from friends or family might require more patience and sensitivity than we normally have.  Frustration in relationships is also likely as we desire to break free of old patterns.  The Moon is also conjunct Saturn in Aquarius on the 9^th, which can come off as a real buzz kill.  It’s a heavy emotional vibe that comes with serious emotional baggage.  Negative attitudes and challenging situations are other features of this aspect.  It’s time to call upon our self-discipline and emotional maturity to deal with this temporary but frustrating time.

But on March 10, we get a nice reprieve.  The Sun and Neptune are conjunct in 20 degrees of Pisces.  This is a pretty sweet aspect that increases our sensitivity, creativity, intuition and empathy.  Compassion is an all-time high.  I’m pretty stoked about it because it falls in my 6^th house and trines my Cancer Midheaven as well as my Sun and Venus in Scorpio.  I will have a Grand Water Trine going on.  I already have a distance Reiki session booked for that day.  This is a beautiful, mystical and spiritual aspect, but we need to be mindful of its shadow side.  Neptune is also associated with deception and smoke screens, so don’t fall prey to con artists and sob stories.  Set some boundaries in your relationships by all means.  You might feel like indulging in some escapist behavior, so feel free to watch some movies on Netflix or read some fantasy novels.  Just don’t get too carried away…

The coronavirus outbreak is causing me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people are concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I recently learned that I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. When it becomes clearer that the virus no longer poses a threat, I will find a new space to practice. In the meantime, a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
