The Heat is on as Mars Conjuncts Jupiter in Gemini and Retrograde Mercury Goes Back into Leo

 

August is definitely turning out to live up to the predictions of being a wild and highly active month.  On August 5 Mercury stationed retrograde in 4 degrees of Virgo, inspiring me to post:

Just about everyone I know has encountered some type of problem with computers, Internet connections and general communication this week.  I suspect that this will be a very tough Mercury retrograde.

But the frustration level continues to mount.  On August 10, the Sun in Leo will be inconjunct Saturn in 18 degrees of Pisces.  This denotes a time when what we want to do is out of whack with responsibilities that are demanding our attention, like it or not.  We might be craving freedom but the bottom line is that we need to work hard, be patient and self-disciplined.  Not exactly the message that any of us wants to hear these days.  Tension is building and it's easy to feel overwhelmed.  Don't ignore those responsibilities, breathe and take things slowly, one task at a time.  In other words, adjust as necessary.  This is not the exactly a carefree summer vibe, but these are the times that we are living in.

Mars and Jupiter have been traveling together in the mutable air sign of Gemini, and on August 14, they will be conjunct in 16 degrees of Gemini.  This is a positive, enthusiastic vibe for starting anything that requires energy, initiative and courage.  We have more physical energy thanks to Mars and more self-confidence courtesy of Jupiter.  Just be mindful not to be overconfident and take on too much because Jupiter loves to expand what it touches.  Mars and Jupiter conjunct in Gemini also loves to communicate on a grander scale and has a lot of intellectual curiosity.  It might not be a bad idea to sign up for a course or plan a trip for when Mercury is direct.  Make the most of this aspect, because Mars in Gemini will be squaring Saturn in Pisces on the 16th, which is not that easy.  More on that in next week's post, which will also include that killer Full Moon in Aquarius and the Sun entering Virgo.  The conjunction occurs in my 9th house, which can affect travel, higher education and legal matters, but it is also conjunct my Moon in my 8th house.

Retrograde Mercury moves back into Leo on August 14 and remains in the fixed fire sign until September 9.  It does station direct in 21 degrees of Leo on August 28.  Mercury retrograde in Leo will play out as our identity and confidence coming under scrutiny.  There is strong potential for drama-filled misunderstanding; we could wind up being very blunt and outspoken.  Rudeness, bragging and demanding behavior are also possible with retrograde Mercury in Leo. This is falling in my 11th house, which is bound to affect my friendships, group associations and goals for the future. I hope that I have the patience to follow my own counsel and reassess during this time...

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
