A Bit of an Astrological Breather This Week with Chiron Going Retrograde in Taurus and Venus Entering Libra

 

Okay, we can breathe a bit this week before eclipse season officially hits us on August 12 with a Solar Eclipse in Leo and then a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on August 28.  I know that many of us are still recovering from the Full Moon in Aquarius that occurred on July 29 which was heavily impacted by the outer planets of Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.  And of course the impact that Full Moon had on the Barbault Basket.  Enough said...

Chiron, which just entered Taurus on June 19, is stationing retrograde in 0 degrees of Taurus on August 3. It will dip back into Aries on September 17, station direct in 26 degrees of Aries on January 6, 2027 and will re-enter Taurus for good on April 14, 2027.  

What will happen when Chiron is retrograde in Taurus?  Chiron in Taurus gives us a taste of our vulnerability and wounding pertaining to our sense of security/survival fears as well as self-worth and self-love.  It's time to take care of our basic physical needs and set some boundaries in relationships. Chiron retrograde brings our subconscious emotional pain to the surface for healing.  Give yourself some grace, kindness and compassion.  We are reliving old wounds when Chiron is retrograde so that we can heal them.  It's important to remember that.

I would also like to issue a spoiler alert for anyone with planets in 0 degrees of the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.  You are going to feel this Chiron retrograde acutely.  I have my natal Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio so I am definitely in the line of fire with transiting Chiron in Taurus in my 7th house opposing my natal Mercury in Scorpio in the first house.

We do have cause for celebration on August 6 when Venus enters its happy place of Libra until September 10. Venus rules Taurus and Libra, so it is ecstatic when it is in Libra.  The themes of harmony, compromise, diplomacy and heightened appreciation for fashion and beauty prevail. We tend to enjoy and crave relationships more when Venus is in Libra; we will make whatever efforts are necessary to make them run smoothly.  Self-care is also favored while Venus is in Libra, which could lend itself to makeovers and some spa trips.  The shadow side of Venus in Libra is a tendency towards people pleasing and indecisiveness.

Also on August 6 the Sun in Leo is trining Saturn in 14 degrees of Aries.  This brings stability, balance, structure, routine and the ability to set long-term goals.  We are more focused and grounded.  It also dovetails quite nicely with Venus in Libra because it can help us to commit to the future of any ongoing romantic relationships.

So I encourage everyone to enjoy this brief astrological respite before eclipse season hits.  It’s time to breathe and enjoy those little pockets of joy.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
