Venus Enters Gemini, Gemini Sun Squares Neptune in Pisces and Gemini Sun Opposes Jupiter in Sagittarius




We are still feeling the Gemini energy very strongly.  On June 3, 2019, we had a powerful new moon in 12 degrees of Gemini, which inspired me to tweet:
Mercury may have departed Gemini on June 4th, but never fear there is more Gemini energy coming.  On June 8, 2019, Venus enters Gemini until July 3, 2019, one day after the solar eclipse in Cancer. This is the big one that sets off the summer eclipse season.  But more on that in a later post.

When Venus is transiting the mutable air sign of Gemini, we will literally feel the astrological breeze in terms of a lighter attitude towards love and money.  Gemini loves social activity, variety, opportunities and choices, so be mindful of this.  Attractions will be based more on a mental than a physical level with Venus in Gemini.  Don’t expect commitments to occur when Venus is in Gemini because it is fickle and is not motivated to settle down.  Gemini is the sign of the twins, and it loves to have a backup in case the first choice doesn’t work out.  I’m not saying there will be bouts of rampant infidelity while Venus is in Gemini, but it’s not the best time to expect commitment if you meet someone new during this transit.

On the following day, June 9, 2019, the sun in 18 degrees of Gemini squares off with Neptune in 18 degrees of Pisces.  We are fortunate that this is a Sunday because the natural tendencies of this aspect lean towards low energy, weakened vitality and a desire for escapism.  If you have been looking for an excuse to sleep in, this is your day.  The other attributes of this aspect include feelings of insecurity, confusion, disappointment and guilt.  Hypochondriacs will have a proverbial field day.  And there could be some deception and dishonesty in relationships. Just be grateful that the effects of this aspect are short-lived.

But on June 10, 2019, we have the sun in 19 degrees of Gemini opposing Jupiter in 19 degrees of Sagittarius.  Although we generally think of oppositions as stressful, this one is pretty beneficial.  For starters, it is a once a year occurrence.  This aspect is positive because it increases chances for happiness and success.  Jupiter loves to expand whatever it touches, and when it opposes the sun, our life force, it can feel like Santa Claus has come to town.  So if you have been good and racking up some good karma points, this aspect can deliver the goods.  The only caveat is to be careful what you wish for and try to stay within the limits of reality.  Jupiter is renowned for its expansive quality and an over the top persona.  For me personally, the sun Jupiter opposition is aspecting my Gemini moon, so I am optimistic about what good fortune the day will bring.

A Motivational New Moon in Gemini and Mercury Enters Cancer


Gemini season is definitely humming along at a brisk pace these days and on June 3, 2019 we will have a new moon in 12 degrees of Gemini that will definitely speed up the action.  The sign of Gemini is renowned for becoming easily bored and craving a variety of choices. But we may need to be mindful of the choices that we are making.  Gemini is also a very social sign and there can be a great deal of mental chatter involved in this new moon.  We have Mercury in Gemini on this new moon in addition to the sun and moon.

A new moon is considered prime time to plant new seeds but be aware that the results of whatever seeds you sow the results may not be apparent until the full moon in Gemini on December 12, 2019.  The themes associated with a new moon in Gemini include truth, communication and self-expression.  This new moon is motivating us to take action and get things done so that we take responsibility for what we want. Mars in Cancer will feature predominantly in this new moon because it is conjunct the north node in 17 degrees of Cancer, which will provide lessons about assertion and give us the courage to speak our truth and ask what we want.  On the political front, having Mars conjunct the north node in Cancer on the day of the new moon can trigger issues about national security here in the United States and around the world.

This Gemini new moon is squaring Neptune in Pisces and opposing Jupiter in Sagittarius.  Mercury in Gemini is also opposing Jupiter in Sagittarius on the new moon.  This aspect can be a boon to writing endeavors, but the ongoing Jupiter/Neptune square has been problematic.  That new moon wants facts, information and the opportunity to communicate, yet Jupiter in Sagittarius is exaggerating information with its opposition to Mercury in Gemini.  And the new moon in Gemini square Neptune can literally leave us feeling overwhelmed and on the receiving end of some deception.

The bottom line is that this new moon holds the potential for an inspiring, spiritual and creative time with all of these mutable planets in motion, but we need to be mindful of our own negative self-talk and try to correct it.  Where have we been hard on ourselves and how can we be kinder to ourselves? The new moon in Gemini is also inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn which may require us to take a step back and detach ourselves from certain situations to gain some perspective.  In this way more may be revealed to us so that we can feel like forward movement is possible.  I know that a lot of people are feeling stuck lately and this new moon may be what motivates us to get unstuck.  It is conjunct my natal Gemini moon in the 8th house, so I am anticipating setting aside a time to meditate, reflect, detach and set some new intentions.

Mercury in Gemini may be in its home sign but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been causing communications havoc lately, courtesy of the mutable T-square involving Jupiter in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces. On May 29, 2019 I tweeted about Mercury in Gemini opposing Neptune in Pisces, only to have an alert follower point out my typo.  So I issued this tweet:
Obviously I intended to say square the first time around, but it didn’t come out that way and is a perfect example of this challenging communications energy.  And on May 30, 2019 Mercury in Gemini was not doing us any favors with its opposition to Jupiter in Sagittarius, which will still be affecting us on the new moon. 

But on June 4, 2019, Mercury will enter the sensitive water sign of Cancer until June 26, 2019.  When Mercury is in Cancer, we will be taking in information on a deeper, more instinctive level and the pace will be quieter. The shadow side of Mercury in Cancer is that it may be more challenging to be objective, but I think it will be a welcome respite from the frenetic pace of Mercury in Gemini. Our thoughts will be colored by our emotions and we will display more interest in what personally affects us.  It will be easier to understand and communicate our emotions more directly and we can get closer to others.  We will be willing to share more personal matters with others and able to discuss things that make us feel more vulnerable.  Vulnerability is a tough nut to crack for many of us, so if we are getting a celestial hand with this issue, I say we take it and run with it.  It’s also easier for us to listen to others when Mercury is in Cancer because we are listening with the heart as well as our ears.  And don’t forget that when Mercury is in the sensitive water sign of Cancer, we can trust our intuition more.

Gemini Season is in Full Force as Mercury in Gemini Sets off a Mutable T-Square


Well, we are definitely in the thick of Gemini season now that both the Sun and Mercury entered the mutable air sign on May 21, 2019 and were conjunct.  On that day I tweeted:
When the sun is transiting the sign of Gemini, it is high time to be open to change and connect on an intellectual level.  Does the phrase think outside the box ring any bells? We will be very open to socializing during this time. As for Mercury transiting Gemini, well, Gemini is one of the two signs it rules (Virgo is the other), so it is right at home and very strong.  Mercury in Gemini increases the amount of information that is disseminated.  Messages tend to be sharp and quick-witted, but because Gemini represents duality and is literally the sign of the twins, be mindful that a double message could be sent.  If you have any doubts, be sure to ask questions, because there is a good chance that all is not as it appears.  Communications will be edgy, witty, bright and light.  Due to the mutable nature of Gemini, we can find ourselves easily distracted, more adept at multi-tasking, and more able to go with the flow and be more flexible mentally.

Mercury in Gemini is forming a couple of challenging aspects next week that will require some major reality checks.  On May 29, 2019, Mercury in Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces, which can distort our thinking and make us more prone to substance abuse as a way of escapism.  On the following day, May 30, 2019, Mercury in Gemini opposes Jupiter in Sagittarius.  This can add to the confusion in communications because Jupiter ignores the bad and exaggerates the good. And Jupiter and Neptune have been involved in an ongoing square since January 2019 that will last until the third and final exact square on September 21, 2019.  The first one occurred on January 13th and the second will occur on June 16, 2019.  The theme of the Jupiter Neptune square is to test our faith due to disappointments.  It cautions us not to be overly optimistic.  So Mercury in Gemini is activating a mutable T-square because it squares Neptune in Pisces and opposes Jupiter in Sagittarius.  Jupiter has a tendency to gloss over the details and take on more than it can handle.  One of the best ways to describe this planetary action is biting off more than you can chew.  And then of course Neptune is all about denial, escapism and fantasizing about the good things. With all of this mutable energy at seeming cross purposes, we are challenged to find a balance between being too provocative and too boring.  Mercury in Gemini will be conjunct my Gemini moon in the 8th house but will actually be in my 9th house when all of this action is going down, so it should be illuminating or confusing.  I’ll see how it plays out…

But on May 27, 2019 the United States is celebrating the holiday of Memorial Day, which is the unofficial start of summer.  The moon is actually in the compassionate, sensitive water sign of Pisces on that day, which is a fitting placement for Memorial Day remembrances.  That Pisces moon conjuncts Neptune, which is very inspirational and it sextiles Venus in Taurus, which is perfect energy for socializing. It also squares Jupiter in Sagittarius, so the party theme and tendency for too much of a good thing is also present. But it is a holiday.  Happy Memorial Day, everyone!

A Transformational Full Moon in Scorpio



The second half of May is promising to be a game changer for relationships.  On May 15, 2019 both Venus and Mars changed signs.  Venus entered one of the signs it rules, Taurus and Mars entered Cancer, which is considered to be in its sign of fall.  On that day I tweeted:
So we have Venus in its happy place and Mars in its place of fall.  This will definitely put a different spin on relationships and on May 18, 2019 we have a potentially transformational full moon in 27 degrees of Scorpio.  We all know that water signs are the most emotionally sensitive, but a full moon in Scorpio is the most intense, psychic and penetrating water sign so this really ups the emotional ante.

A full moon is a time of culmination, closure, endings and an opportunity for secrets to be revealed.  When that full moon is in the sign of Scorpio, there can be a release of repressed emotions as we seek to transform old emotional patterns.  The full moon energy is also amplified by the presence of four planets in Taurus for the second half of May: the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Uranus.  On the day of the full moon, Venus is conjunct Uranus in 3 degrees of Taurus.  Venus in Taurus may crave security, but Uranus craves freedom and space, so this aspect could cause some disruption in whatever house it hits in your chart.

Mercury in 23 degrees of Taurus is trining Pluto in 23 degrees of Capricorn on the full moon and that can quite literally be a good thing for the most part. Mercury is in opposition to the full moon in Scorpio and it can increase our psychic sensitivity, but there is a shadow side of this aspect that can contribute to some paranoia.   Mercury trining Pluto does provide the energy we need to transform those negative emotions into something positive. If we have been locked into negative emotional patterns from our past, we have the opportunity with this aspect to release them so that we can attract more positive vibrations and situations into our lives. Deep fundamental changes are bound to occur in your chart wherever 3 degrees of Taurus and 23 degrees of Capricorn fall. For me personally, I will be feeling it in my 7th and 4th houses respectively.  And this full moon is conjuncting my natal Venus in the 2nd house and squaring my Pluto in the 11th house. Yes, this full moon is activating that Venus Pluto square.  I am trying to have faith that this full moon in 27 degrees of Scorpio trining my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer in the 10th house is the saving grace aspect for me.

Don’t forget that both Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn are retrograde during this full moon and they are heavy hitters as well in this astrological landscape.  With both of these planets in Capricorn, security and stability are key themes but that Venus Uranus conjunction in Taurus will be challenging because it craves freedom and space.  Saturn has to do with what you have earned, so this will be an area of life where you may face some rewards or some setbacks and delays.  And Pluto pertains to power and control, and a full moon in Scorpio, the sign that Pluto rules, is bound to trigger these issues and perhaps initiate a few power struggles in relationships. But the full moon in Scorpio is also sextiling Pluto in Capricorn on the full moon, so that is a supportive aspect that lends a deeper intensity and meaning to the transformative quality of this Scorpio full moon.

There are some other aspects on the full moon that contain themes of healing due to some painful challenges.  Mars in Cancer is squaring Chiron in Aries, which can reinforce the theme of vulnerability but also stimulate the urge to protect ourselves and those we perceive as vulnerable.  Chiron is the Wounded Healer, so it plays a pivotal role in the healing quality of this full moon. The Scorpio moon is also trining Neptune in Pisces, adding tones of compassion and empathy on our transformation journey.  Neptune in Pisces is still involved in an ongoing square with Jupiter in Sagittarius until October 2019 and this aspect, while a bit challenging, can inspire us to move towards a better reality.

For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.  I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages.  I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Relationships Shift as Venus and Mars Change Signs




Relationships are about to experience some major shifts as both Venus and Mars change signs on May 15, 2019.  Venus in Aries is considered to be in detriment and it has been living up to its impulsive and excitable nature quite a bit lately.  On May 7, 2019 Venus in Aries squared Saturn in Capricorn, which is not exactly a warm and fuzzy aspect.  On that day I tweeted:
A couple of days later on May 9, 2019, Venus in Aries squared Pluto in Capricorn because we are heading towards that big Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn in January 2020.  I have a Venus Pluto square natally and I confess that it really triggered me. It inspired me to tweet:
But on May 15, 2019, Venus will enter Taurus, which it rules, so we can expect Venus to be a lot more comfortable here since many of us will still be reeling from the Venus in Aries transit.  Venus will be in Taurus until June 8, 2019, so enjoy it.  Venus in Taurus is all about enjoying inner and outer beauty, love, money and the finer things in life. We will find ourselves paying attention to our material surroundings.  We will also be feeling more sensual and possessive as we seek security and value that lasts.  But the shadow side of Venus in Taurus is that excessive possessiveness.  We should also be feeling more inclined to desire commitment and stability in our relationships.  That is so not Venus in Aries, which tends to live for the moment.

Venus enters Taurus on the morning of May 15th, while Mars enters the sign of Cancer in the evening.  Mars in Gemini was very fast paced and when Mars is in Cancer, it is considered to be in fall because its fire is dampened by Cancer’s self-protective and sensitive water energy.  Mars in Cancer is more moody, passive aggressive and doesn’t act in a direct manner.  Suppression of anger is also common with this transit.  But it is still cardinal energy, so don’t be afraid to initiate by approaching the past in a new way.  The best way to utilize the Mars in Cancer energy is to take action regarding security and nurturing, which are key Cancer themes.  Don’t forget that Cancer is all about emotional security and protection, but Mars in Cancer is slower to act and fights with deep sensitivity for what it holds most dear. It’s also a great time for tackling domestic tasks.  Yet the shadow side of Mars in Cancer is a tendency to be reactive and oversensitive, so be mindful of that until July 1, 2019 when Mars enters the fire sign of Leo.

On May 11, 2019, we actually have a positive aspect involving Saturn in Capricorn. The Sun in 20 degrees of Taurus forms a flowing trine with Saturn in 20 degrees of Capricorn.  This aspect can bring recognition and achievement for earlier efforts.  It adds a note of stability to our lives.  Respect is a key factor with the Sun trining Saturn and it is a wonderful opportunity to set some boundaries in relationships and engage in more self-discipline.

On the following day, May 12, 2019, we celebrate Mother’s Day.  This day features an inspiring and loving Grand Fire Trine as the Leo moon trines Jupiter in Sagittarius and Venus in Aries while also sextiling Mars in Gemini before the moon moves into Virgo on Sunday afternoon.  So Venus and Mars will make some positive aspects before they depart Aries and Gemini.
