The month of April is going out with just as much intensity as it began with that Full Moon in Libra on April 1. On April 24, Venus moves from one of its favorite signs, Taurus, into the mutable air sign of Gemini. Venus will remain in Gemini until May 18. When Venus is in Gemini, love is more cerebral as we are attracted to intellect and words hold sway over us. Stimulating conversations can be an aphrodisiac for us. It is a more light-hearted vibe as flirting and a craving for space in relationships prevail. Venus in Gemini can also play out in fleeting connections and a tendency towards fickleness.
But hold the following day, April 25, as the day when really big changes occur. First off, in the afternoon, the Sun in Taurus squares Pluto in 5 degrees of Aquarius. I have this aspect natally with my Sun in Scorpio and Pluto in Leo. On the plus side, this aspect supplies the energy, strength and motivation to work hard and persevere through difficulties. This is especially true with it occurring in fixed signs. But the Sun squaring Pluto can be accompanied by a need for power and a tendency to be assertive and controlling, which can lead to stress, power struggles, ego conflicts and intense experiences. Fear of losing control is another theme of this aspect. Ruthless and compulsive behavior can occur too, but ultimately it can lead to transformation and rebirth. And of course, anyone with planets in the early degrees of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio will feel this one big time.
And at 8:50 p.m. on April 25, a whole new era begins when Uranus moves into Gemini to stay for the next seven years. Yes, we got a sneak peek last year from July 7 through November 7, but this time Uranus stays in Gemini until August 3, 2032, when it briefly moves into Cancer, but returns to Gemini from December 12, 2032 until May 22, 2033.
Uranus is the planet associated with revolution, upheavals, sudden changes, electricity, shock and a need for freedom. The last major transit of Uranus in Gemini occurred from 1942 through 1949. Uranus has an 84-year cycle and the United States has a history of being involved in wars when Uranus was in Gemini. It started with the Revolutionary War, then again during the Civil War and World War II. What can we expect with transit of Uranus in Gemini? Uranus was extremely uncomfortable in Taurus, which threw the financial world into turmoil. The thing with Uranus is that it is never what you expect it to be.
Uranus in Gemini will bring revolution and change in communication, technology and transportation. Social media will definitely be affected, as will AI. Education is also up for some radical changes. People who have planets in the mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius will feel its influence most acutely. New perspectives will emerge and there will be more clarity. But it can be especially challenging when Uranus is at the beginning of a sign and at the end. Many of us are still recovering from Uranus in Taurus. That last degree packs a punch.
Gemini is mutable air, so we will be feeling other people's vibes too. Gemini loves change and variety, so we can anticipate technology advancements. Freedom of speech is a big theme now. Uranus is also the higher octave of Mercury, which rules Gemini. We can literally feel like busting out of our mental ruts. And the planet Uranus is very much an in the moment and future oriented planet. We also have a stellium of planets in Aries now: Mars, Mercury, Saturn and Neptune. Aries is a sign that craves independence and Uranus is all about seeking freedom. There will be a supportive sextile between Uranus in Gemini and Neptune in Aries, which can manifest as different expression of consciousness. We also have Uranus in Gemini sextiling Pluto in 5 degrees of Aquarius, which will facilitate a better understanding of consciousness. This is a welcome relief from the tense squares between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn that occurred between 2012 and 2015. Sextiles support and create opportunities.
Be prepared to let go of the old order so that if falls away. Jupiter in 18 degrees of Cancer is also squaring Mercury in 17 degrees of Aries on April 25, which can deliver big news and plans. There is also hope for healing technologies to advance with Uranus in Gemini. We are entering a whole new world and all I can say is to be as flexible as possible to the changes that will happen. Fortunately, Uranus in Gemini is very comfortable being flexible and adaptable since it is a mutable sign.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client. I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
