An Action-Packed Week Kicking off a Reset Starting with a New Moon in Taurus, Mercury, Mars, Venus and the Sun Changing Signs

 

The pace is really picking up this week.  We have a Super New Moon in 25 degrees of Taurus on May 16 that will serve as a perfect time to set intentions pertaining to financial stability and security.  Indulging in sensual pleasures is also a theme with this Taurus Moon that is ruled by Venus.  The Moon and the Sun are also conjunct Mercury in Taurus, which lends more groundedness to our thinking.  Another perk is that the Moon in Taurus is forming a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 21 degrees of Cancer, which can create opportunities for financial growth. Mars and Chiron are also conjunct in 28 degrees of Aries on the New Moon indicating that is okay to feel vulnerable and ask for help.  I am sure many of us have felt that we needed to be strong and self-sufficient but this is a time to acknowledge that we can't do everything alone.  Any way you slice it, this New Moon in Taurus is akin to hitting the reset button in our lives.

On May 17, Mercury enters Gemini until June 1.  Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo, so it is definitely a happy camper here.  This will be a high-octane period for communication, learning and mental agility.  We are more witty, inclined to make decisions rapidly and might be taking more short trips.  Mercury will also be conjunct Uranus in Gemini on that day, which can bring some real mental breakthroughs.  

Mars moves into Taurus on May 18, which is a huge shift from the impulsive action of Mars in Aries.  We are motivated to be more practical, stable and grounded.  Financial planning could take center stage in our lives.  The shadow side of Mars in Taurus is tendency towards stubbornness, as Taurus is fixed earth.  The fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio will feel this most acutely.

Venus is changing signs too on May 18.  It enters Cancer on that day until June 13.  Love becomes softer, more nurturing and healing. We crave deeper connections and might be prone to spending money on home improvements.  A desire for safety and security in relationships prevails now.  We can also find ourselves being more sentimental and nostalgic.

The Sun moves into Gemini on May 20 as our focus shifts to diversity, socializing, learning and curiosity.  Gathering information is important for us now and we are likely to have a finger in every pot so to speak.  We also might be a little fickle with the Sun in Gemini trying to sample as much variety as possible.  The Sun is moving toward its own conjunction with Uranus in Gemini, which will be exact on May 22.  But the theme of fresh starts and new chapters ring true with Mercury and then the Sun conjunct Uranus in Gemini.  The upsets of Uranus in Taurus over the last seven years are literally in our rear-view mirror now.

Uranus in Gemini will be trining Pluto in Aquarius from July 2026 through May 2028, which will be a welcome change from the turbulence we encountered with the Uranus in Aries squares to Pluto in Capricorn from 2012 through 2015. Trine are harmonious energy which facilitate implementing deep structural change. It won't be as chaotic as the squares and technology could be instrumental in delivering those changes.  Innovative thinking is also emphasized.  Bring it on, I say!  The days of feeling stuck are starting to fade as we create a new reality.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
