The Month of May Heats Up as the Sun Conjuncts Uranus in Gemini, Mars Squares Pluto and Venus Squares Saturn

 

I don't know about you, but I am still in recovery mode from the New Moon in Taurus on May 16 and the Gemini energy that began with Mercury entering its home sign on May 17 and the Sun on May 20. And I have a natal Moon in Gemini, which should make it easier for me to deal with, but it has been a whirlwind. And speaking of heat, in the Boston area, we have had two 90 degree days this week.

On May 22, the Sun and Uranus are conjunct in 1 degree of Gemini. This can bring sudden a-ha moments of insight, rebellious acts of independence and electrical intellectual energy.  Be prepared for rapid changes in thinking and communication.  It can be a day of major breakthroughs.  A feeling of restlessness and nervous energy will prevail.  We are craving freedom and serious change is on the horizon.  These two planets haven't been conjunct in Gemini since the 1940's because Uranus has an 84-year cycle.  Uranus was last in Gemini from 1941-1948.  The Sun and Uranus are conjunct once every year, but this conjunction is momentous. Uranus was in Gemini from 1859 to 1866 and 1774 to 1782.  Are you seeing a pattern here?  The United States entered World War II in 1941, had its own Civil War in the 1860's and we had the American Revolutionary War in 1775.  Uranus is also squaring the North Node in Pisces and South Node in Virgo at this time.  Events can suddenly occur that make us feel torn between the past and the future.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Venus in Cancer is also squaring Neptune in 3 degrees of Aries on May 22.  This aspect can cause us to see relationships with rose colored glasses and experience boundary issues. Since Venus is also associated with money, we might be inclined to overspend on this day.  Just warning you...

On May 26, Mars in Taurus is squaring Pluto in 5 degrees of Aquarius. When these two heavy hitting planets get together, it is never an easy encounter.  There will be an intense desire to gain control over others or situations which can lead to power struggles and confrontations.  It will be very easy to act defensively now as well triggering some downright obsessive behavior.  A more constructive way to channel this energy is to break down old habits that no longer serve us, exercise, make peace with past power struggles and put effort into self-improvement or personal transformation.  Mars in Taurus is transiting my 7th house and Pluto in Aquarius is in my 4th house, so this should be interesting... I tend to think of it as the Roto-Rooter transit for relationships.

On May 28, Venus in Cancer is squaring Saturn in 11 degrees of Aries.  This tends to deliver a harsh reality check in matters pertaining to love and finances. Expect a day of stress in relationships or experiences of financial limitations.  There can be a sense of guardedness and emotional reserve that is not exactly conducive to starting new relationships.  Major purchases are not wise either on this day and it's not the best time to make any beauty changes.  Save the makeover for friendlier astrological weather.  Venus squaring Saturn can help us to set healthier boundaries in relationships and be more practical concerning money though.
