The holidays are starting off on an auspicious note
as Saturn in Sagittarius trines Uranus in Aries on December 24, 2016, which is
Christmas Eve. It is literally a
Christmas miracle because Saturn and Uranus are not exactly known for their compatibility. Indeed, they are really quite strange
bedfellows. Saturn is all about
tradition and stability, while Uranus represents progress, change and a desire for
freedom. Saturn requires discipline,
maturity and patience while Uranus is all about independence, breaking the
rules and breaking out of its comfort zone.
What happens when the Great Teacher (Saturn) meets the Great Awakener
(Uranus)? Well, when these two work
together, Saturn can tame the wilder side of Uranus and Uranus awakens Saturn
to potential forms and structures that can prove to be more flexible. It can prove to be a grounding influence as
we seek to implement change. In short,
it is a win-win situation. And the best
part is that this aspect is exact again on May 18, 2017 and November 11,
2017. The good vibration keeps on
coming!
Many of us are still reeling from the effects
of the past year’s Saturn in Sagittarius Neptune in Pisces squares that
occurred on November 26, 2015, June 8, 2016 and September 10, 2016. Reality and truth were tested to the max as
we all scrambled to determine what the truth was. Fantasy and reality became blurred. And on many levels we are still reverberating
from the Uranus in Aries Pluto in Capricorn squares of 2012-2015. So it really is a nice change of pace for
both of these heavy hitters, Saturn and Uranus, to be working together to usher
in the change that 2017 will no doubt bring.
Mercury and Pluto have been conjunct in
Capricorn from December 18-21, 2016. Of
course, Mercury stationed retrograde on December 19, 2016, when I tweeted:

When Mercury is conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, we
are passionate about our goals and our thinking and words have the power to
create a new reality. The key piece of this aspect is to remember that Mercury
retrograde cautions us to review carefully before proceeding with any major
actions.
On Christmas Day, Venus in Aquarius will be
sextiling Uranus in Aries and Saturn in Sagittarius while trining Jupiter in
Libra. This is all happening around 20
degrees of each sign. These are pretty
sweet, harmonious aspects that hold strong potential for peace and harmony over
the holidays. Jupiter in Libra, Pluto in
Capricorn, and Uranus in Aries have all been involved in an ongoing (through April
2017) cardinal T-square that will affect anyone who has planets or points in
18-21 degrees of the cardinal signs.
Mars in Pisces will also be conjunct the south node and Neptune on
Christmas Day, which signifies a cycle of karmic completion and a perfect
opportunity to release our victim/martyr roles.
On December 26, 2016, Jupiter in Libra will be opposing
Uranus in Aries. This aspect will mark a
shift in consciousness and things can happen out of the blue, fast-paced events
that can truly liberate us. But as with all Jupiter transits, if you snooze you
lose, do take advantage of whatever opportunities come your way on this day,
because you don’t want to miss out!
We also have a New Moon coming up in 8 degrees
of Capricorn on December 29, 2016. And Uranus
stations direct in 20 degrees of Aries on that same day, so be prepared for the
year to end with some totally left-field, unexpected surprises and shocks! This new moon is exactly conjunct my north
node in the 3rd house, so I am looking forward, to it, Mercury
retrograde notwithstanding! This new
moon will also form a conjunction to Pluto in Capricorn, which will place a greater
emphasis on power issues, which will probably involve issues pertaining to
government and financial structures. And Mars in Pisces will be sextiling Pluto
in Capricorn, which will help us become more aware of our own center and
relinquish and release our role of victim consciousness while creating a new
reality. A major theme of this new moon
in Capricorn is finding your power.
