Brace yourself, folks! We are about to welcome
a new year and 2017 is definitely going to be a whole new world in a multitude
of ways! Many of us are extremely
grateful that 2016 will soon be behind us, as it was a year of many unsettling
events. The last week of 2016 saw a
powerful new moon in Capricorn that aligned with Pluto on December 29th
while Uranus stationed direct after a five month retrograde period. On that
that day I tweeted:

Unfortunately, in the short period of time from
December 25-28, 2016, we also lost three entertainment icons: George Michael died
on Christmas Day and Carrie Fisher died on December 27, 2016 after going into
cardiac arrest on December 23rd on a flight from London to Los
Angeles. Jupiter in 20 degrees of Libra was
transiting her 9th house and forming a conjunction to her Mercury in
14 degrees of Libra as well as a wide conjunction to her sun in 28 degrees of
Libra. The 9th house pertains
to long-distance travel, ethics and publishing.
Ironically, I had just finished reading her latest book The Princess
Diarist on the day that she was struck down on that flight. Her mother,
Debbie Reynolds died on the following day, December 28, 2016. It seems that the year 2016 began with some
famous deaths (David Bowie died on January 10th) and decided to end
on the same sad note.
January 1, 2017 starts off with a Mars Neptune
conjunction in 9 degrees of Pisces. Like
the fish that is capable of swimming in two different directions, this aspect
can play out in one of two ways. Either
we will feel paranoid and delusional, or we can become very romantic, dreamy
and idealistic. After all, Pisces is
known for its compassion. But Pisces is
also associated with escapism. Many
people just want to drown their sorrows on New Year’s Eve after such a
tumultuous 2016 and may wake up with a hangover.
If you decide to utilize the positive energy of
this aspect, you can work it to pursue your ideals, dreams and spiritual goals. The Mars Neptune conjunction falls in my 5th
house of creativity and trines my south node in Cancer while also trining my
Saturn in Scorpio, But I also realize
that as a highly sensitive person, I need to avoid negative environments, drugs
and alcohol. I have Neptune in the 1st
house and that makes me vulnerable to spiritual vampires, over idealization, and
deception.
Speaking of deception, I was on the receiving
end of a heavy dose of deception myself on December 29th, the day of the new
moon in 8 degrees Capricorn in my 3rd house conjunct my north node
and Uranus stationing direct in 20 degrees of Aries in my 7th
house. I arrived home from a Pilates
class to discover that a priority mail envelope addressed to me had been
slipped under my door. I opened it and
found a cashier’s check from Chase Bank payable to me in a large amount of
money. It was from someone in
Washington, DC whom I had never heard of.
Granted, I have had a few clients who have stiffed me for payment in the
past year, but nothing even remotely resembling that amount. I called Chase Bank and they were able to
verify that it was not one of their checks and that they had received several
other phone calls this week about similar bogus cashier’s checks. Had I deposited that check, I would have been
liable for the amount of the check when it didn’t clear. So the deception
associated with a Mars Neptune aspect started a few days early for me! Beware of this scam, readers! I consider myself very fortunate to have
trusted my instincts on this one.
When I say that 2017 is going to be a whole new
world, I am not just whistling Dixie. Numerology backs me up on this one
because 2017 will be a Universal Year 1.
A Universal Year 1 is all about beginning new things, as well as
thinking and acting independently. The
last time we had a Universal Year 1 was in 2008. In 2008 Pluto entered the sign of Capricorn
but retrograded back into Sagittarius from mid- June through late November of
2008. How can we forget the economic crisis
of 2008? With Pluto still in Capricorn,
I truly believe that 2017 will expose what has been kept secret in corporations
and governments. Change in governments will
be inevitable in 2017.
